What is a double-sided printer?

A double-sided printer is a printer that’s able to print on both sides of a single sheet of paper. There are a couple of benefits to having a double-sided printer. First, you’re able to conserve paper and reduce your total number of pages used by half. This will not only save you money, it’s also good for the environment. Second, you’ll be able to print any report-style document that warrants print on both sides of the page.

What is the difference between inkjet printing and laser printing?

HP® is proud to offer both inkjet printers and laser printers that are capable of double-sided printing. Inkjet printers have some very distinguishable differences from laser printers.

Inkjet printers use ink cartridges to create your photos and documents. The ink is dropped onto the paper through tiny nozzles as it rolls through the printer, which means it’s able to produce a dazzling array of colors and detail. You might prefer an inkjet printer if you need to print professional-quality color documents or photos.

Laser printers use toner cartridges to create your documents. Toner is a grain-like ink substance that can be applied to your paper much more quickly than ink can. Since the printing process is faster, laser printers are ideal if you want to print a large volume of documents. Laser printers are known for very precise line placement so they’re great for charts, graphs, and diagrams. Toner cartridges can yield a higher number of pages than ink cartridges, too.

In the past, laser printers were known for only being able to print in black and white. HP®, however, produces a variety of color laser printers that can create high-quality color images at very fast speeds.

What’s a good double-sided printer for home?

Can I print double-sided on all types of mediums?

But there are other ways you can help reduce your ecological footprint. When you buy HP ink and toner cartridges, you can easily recycle them through HP Planet Partners. We manufacture over 80% of our cartridges using recycled materials.

You can either take your used cartridge to a select office supply store in your area, or you can print postage-paid shipping materials online and arrange for us to pick up your supplies.
