I needed a faster black and white printer that I can print from my PC or iPhone. I’m happy and it prints duplex. I used a USB cable to complete setup (not included). Other than software download, no internet was required. I was not able to complete setup without the USB cable because my PC does not have Wi-Fi. But otherwise, it’s been great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by OC IT Specialist from Nothing but agony We bought a couple of these to have on hand to use as simple USB-connected desktop printers. They are anything but. When trying to set them up, you will be prompted to use the HP Smart app to register them with HP+, which requires an internet connection, even if you're just trying to use is as a USB-connected printer. As far as I can tell, there is no way to bypass this step, even though HP's website says you can. Furthermore, one of the units has a glitched out web UI and since there is no way to factory reset it without using the web UI, it's essentially a paperweight. Another one of the units is working, but is still showing up via WSD Network Discovery on any computer on campus, even though WS-Discovery is disabled in the web UI. This means anyone can connect to the printer and print. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this printer, and any HP+ focused printer at all costs.

Hello. Thanks for your question. Yes, you can set up this HP LaserJet Pro 3001dwe Printer to have its own HP ePrint email address. HP ePrint essentially gives your printer an email address. As long as it is connected to the wireless network, you can email it from anywhere and the printer will print the email and its attachments. You can email the printer from any email address. Hello. Thanks for your question. This HP LaserJet Pro 3001dw Printer does not have an option for another tray. We recommend looking at the HP LaserJet Pro 4001dwe or 4001dw printer, which does have an option for an additional paper tray.
