Interesting design
While HP is clearly a leader in printers, I have had mixed results and lots of frustration from their products.
I was a bit skeptical of this design. It was not completely clear how everything worked at first glance. Instructions were helpful, which is not always the case with HP. I was glad that the ink containers were all used as I was concerned how well they would stop if the whole contents did not load into the printer. Still a question for the future when I go to refill and don’t wait until they are 100% empty. Hoping the ink windows are effective in letting me know when I am low before completing running out. Also hoping the refills are not overly expensive. Ink was easy to fill. Print heads went in easily. I like the all in one aspect as it is nice to have a copier handy, in addition to the printer. Scanning is a bonus feature, as is 2 sided printing (if I can only remember which way to put in the paper with the printing already on it). It prints fast and has good resolution.
Limited use so far, but works ok. Let’s see if it continues.

Perfect sized printer
This printer is the perfect size for my space. The set up process was fairly easy and installing the ink was fairly entertaining and fun as well. I love the copy function and how easily it connects to my laptop so all my scanned documents are uploaded to the folders I desire. The printing speed could be a little faster but I may need to play around with the settings first to see if there’s a way to improve that. Overall I love this printer

Eco friendly Printer for bulk printing
This printer set up was so easy and seamless that i was able to follow the process with the smart app and it was ready to print in minutes. This is the first time i have seen refillable ink tanks and which seems to be a big plus as there is lot more ink and the printer can print a lot of documents before even it needs any refil. Also, the quality of the prints is also very good with out any ink smudges, even the pictures were printed very sharp and the colors came out good.
i was able to easily connect to printer from my laptop and my phone very easily and above all, it also supports double sided printing. it barely made any noise when printing which was super helpful when i have to print when i am in a meeting.
I think finally this printer is made to be more eco friendly as there is no need to discard any ink cartridges and that made it very conomical and hassle free and at the same time gave me high quality and high volume printer.

Huge Ink Savings & Perfect for Busy Households!
I absolutely love the HP Smart Tank 6002. One of the biggest reasons is how much money I’ve saved on ink. The tank system lasts incredibly long, and I don’t have to constantly worry about buying expensive cartridges every few weeks. For anyone who prints a lot—school papers, work documents, forms—this printer is a game-changer.

Say goodbye to frequent ink cartridge refills!
I've always used printers that use expensive cartridges that you constantly have to buy refills for, so I've always wanted to try a printer that uses bottles instead so I could lower costs. This HP Smart Tank 6002 was a great choice to try out! It took less than 10 minutes for me to unbox and set up this printer. It does have more steps than your usual printer as you have to manually fill each ink color, but in the end I'd say it's worth it for the amount I'll be saving on ink. It's also very nice that it has windows to see how much ink you have left, so you're not left guessing when you'll next have to run out and buy ink.

Best HP Printer Ever
I absolutely love my HP Smart Tank 6002. It has been such a game changer for my creative projects, especially when printing stickers. Easy Setup and super quality
Ok, I've had an HP printer in the past and it was a difficult setup. Not this one though , I like the easy tonread instructions and love love love how the ink tanks are right there, huge and in front of you . Only issue was the power plug insertion in the back , I had a little difficulty putting it in and making it go in all the way. The printer itself comes with ink and its supposed to last up to 2 years. That's pretty impressive. Overall. Its a good size, not too small and not oversized either. Love how it offers double sided printing and most of all the quality of the prints.

Duplex printing and refillable ink are perfect
I am so happy with this HP Smart Tank 6002 printer. After years of dealing with expensive cartridges, the refillable ink tank system is fantastic. It’s incredibly easy to top up the ink, and you can clearly see the levels, so there's no guessing. It feels so much more economical and less wasteful.
The other feature I absolutely love is the automatic two-sided printing. This is a complete game changer compared to my old printer where I had to manually flip pages. It saves so much paper and time, especially when printing multi-page documents.
Overall, it’s just a great all-in-one machine for home or office use. It was straightforward to set up, and both printing and scanning have been reliable and high-quality.

Fast Quality Printing!
This HP Smart Tank 6002 All-in-One is a major upgrade from my previous printer. Set-up was a breeze just download the app and follow the instructions. Printer isn't heavy at all i especially like how it has refillable tanks and It was super easy to fill them with no mess at all! This printer prints very fast and quite and very quality prints! It prints up to 8,000 color or 6,000 black pages it also has automatic two-sided printing. It's HP AI enabled that being said I highly recommend this HP printer!

No more anxiety about running out of printer ink!
I have been curious about tank reservoir printers since I read about home models a few years ago, so I jumped at the chance to test out the HP SmartTank 6002 Printer. The printer came beautifully packed with very easy to set-up instructions. Though it takes a little longer on the front end to fill the tanks with the ink, it couldn't be easier! I set everything up in about 20 minutes without a spot of ink on my hands! Be sure to download the HP Smart App on your computer and phone for easy printing from either device. I have used it to print white and colored printer paper with great results, and just recently printed on full sheet sticker paper--be sure to select best printing and photo paper for top results. I was thrilled that the sticker sheet didn't have any smearing and even the first attempt at economical printing was decent. I was always running out of ink with my last printer and after doing the math, realized that the HP SmartTank would save me money, stress and the need to run out to buy ink during a project, plus it is better for the environment with less plastic ink cartridges and their production footprint. First photo shows the two test prints I made, the bottom using the economical printing,and the top sheet using the best printing option with photo paper selected.

HP Smart Tank 6002
This printer is a huge money saver. Instead of buying expensive plastic cartridges that seem to run dry every other week, this printer uses huge, visible refillable tanks on the front. I even got 2 years worth of ink in the package which is a plus. Unboxing and setup was a breeze and only took me 15 minutes. I already had HP app installed on my phone so adding this printer was super easy. The print quality is sharp for documents and for color photos. It also supports automatic double-sided printing which is a huge paper saver. It is not the fastest printer to print at 12 pages per minute but it is great for my daily printing activities. Wifi connection was very reliable and steady. Highly recommended.

I opened the box with my HP Smart Tank and thought it looked impressive. Then, not being very astute with electronics was worried about being able to set it up.
Surprise! It was really very easy and the instructions clear and easy to follow. The only thing I found to be a problem was that the power plug was very hard to insert into the back of the printer. Other than that, it is great. The print is crisp and clear and printing quick. Lots of ink insures you won't run out quickly. I don't think you can go wrong with this printer.

Quality and economy in one package
We really like the printer, setup was so easy, just follow along with the app and it will be running in no time. Loading the ink tanks is very clean and considering how much they hold should last for quite a long time. It prints fast, the color quality is outstanding and all typefaces that I tried are clear and crisp. I think we might have a winner here, a quality printer at a reasonable price that won't break the bank when buying supplies....

I was genuinely impressed by how easy it was to get the HP Smart Tank 6002 up and running. The setup took less than 15 minutes, and the HP app guided me through every step without any confusion. It connected to my Wi-Fi seamlessly, and the print quality has been excellent so far, both in color and black-and-white.

Great for everyday printing
I've been testing this printer for both personal and business, and so far it has not disappointed.
Set up is super easy with a guided tutorial. It's my first printer with no cartridge, and I was curious if the ink would spill when I turned over the bottle. It's made in a way where it doesn't come out until it clicks with the proper nozzle inside the printer. Everything is color coordinated so you don't make any mistakes. Once you install the print heads you can see the ink moving through the lines.
I've been using both my laptop and phone for printing. Both have been easy and straightforward. The phone app has extra stuff you can print directly from HP like coloring pages and holiday decor. The app even has a feature where you can print remotely but set it as a secured pickup where it doesn't print until you're close to the printer.
This printer comes with 2 year ink so I've been printing almost nothing but full color high quality to test how long it really lasts. So far, the ink levels haven't moved. If it really lasts that long, it's great for my pockets. I also printer out some other documents like resumes, and full pdf's. They printed pretty quickly.
My last HP printer had a large touch-screen on it, so that's the only thing I feel like I'm missing. The screen on this one is really small, so you'd want to use the app or your pc.
Overall, great printer. Lots of features for the price, and I don't ever have to worry about cartridges again.

Quiet and Fast
I love the speed of the HP Smart Tank 6002 Printer. This printer can print 12 of my blank ink pages in one minute. It is quiet and efficient. The easy fill system makes it so simple to add new ink without spilling it or making a mess. The setup on the printer was quick, and the directions were clear and easy to follow. I really like that this printer is wireless and I can print from any room in my home straight from my cell phone. Overall, I am very happy with all of the great features of the HP Smart Tank 6002.

After using the Smart tank 6002 for a week now ,set up was very easy, The tanks were filled very easily and no mess to fill them. The print colors are very vibrantand clear , I can't wait to try/ test with
My craft projects. It's great that the ink last longer than my previous printers and the smart tank means I won't have to worry about running out of ink halfway through my projects . A Workhorse of A Printer
Setting up my new HP Smart Tank 6002 was incredibly simple. The instructions/guidance via the HP App were both clear and intuitive. I had the machine up and running in less than 30 minutes, all on my own.
HP includes a generous amount of ink in the box (via bottles that are recyclable through HP's Planet Partners program), which adds value right off the bat. Bonus points for this eco-friendly tank system - no mure bulky, messy and leaky cartridges. Plus the refill ink bottles are eco-friendly AND way cheaper than the cartridges too - a total win win!
The machine seriously delivers in terms of performance as well. It prints extremely fast in both color and black/white. Duplex printing is just as fast and (thus far) flawless. The printer is impressively quiet and responsive, with minimal lag time between sending a job to print and having it in my hands. While I do wish the printer had an auto feeder tray to make it even more productive, it's a seriously small gripe and certainly wasn't a dealbreaker for me.
I've had the machine just under a week and have encountered only one minor hiccup (albeit twice) - an E4 media jam error. Both times, it was quickly resolved with the help of the HP App Troubleshooting feature.
Overall, I'm very happy with the printer and the experience so far. The longevity of the machine remains to be seen...but based on this first week, I'm optimistic.

Just was I was looking for
I do a lot of high quality printing with photo paper. I use glossy and matte. For black colors this works really well with matte photo paper. Having the tank for the printer saves a lot on ink considering how many high quality pictures I print daily. I loved how easy and straight forward it was to setup. The all in one is really nice as well if I just want to print on basic paper for documents and make copies. I am using 54lbs double sided photo paper and this printer takes it like a champ! It's not so big that you can't fit it in on your desk but not so small to where they skip out on quality. It's super easy to fill the tanks with ink. Their app could be a little better. There is a lack of advanced printer settings to mess with when trying to get the right print in a photo. And I wish it has a longer tray to catch the paper after it is done printing. But for everyday basic home use. This printer is well worth a try. I love it so far. I am getting to know it and everyday I want to use it more and more.

Excellent instructions for setup
This is truly smart! It actually made me feel smart! The instructions are so easy to follow. It found Wi-Fi nearby and then quickly narrowed it down all on its own to the closest network, which was mine. There was only one thing in the instructions that was slightly confusing, It said to put the ink bottle there and it would drain out, but it didn’t say you have to press down so it can break the seal. It was worrisome to press down thinking you don’t want to break anything, but you actually need to, so it would have been nice if the instructions had said that. Other than that, the instructions for setup were fantastic. I like the way you refill the ink. A huge plus for me is that it automatically prints double sided.The print quality is excellent. Very clear with clean lines and no smudges. The small size of the machine is perfect in our small home office. It fills all of the needs we have at home- printing, copying and scanning! It exceeded my expectations.

My family loves the HP Smart Tank 6002 Printer. This printer is fast and quiet. It can print up to 12 pages of black ink in one minute. The ink is refillable and the easy fill system makes it mess-free and simple to refill. I love that it is wireless and I can print from the HP App right from my phone anywhere in my house. All about the ink
The HP Smart tank 6002 has a lot great features that makes it ideal for home use and students. First it has refillable ink cartridges, which the black rated for 6000 prints and only cost around $23 to replace the black ink. it is 135ML, that's a lot of ink!
It has a small footprint so it will fit in a small spot.
Download the HP app to install the printer, it will walk you through the setup process. I also used the manual that came with the printer to refer to the illustrations for a better understanding of the process.
Setup to my Wi-Fi was fast and easy. It automatically found my Wi-Fi, all i had to do was enter my password.

Finally a printer that doesn’t drive me crazy
I’ve been using my HP Smart Tank 6002 All-in-One printer for a few weeks now and honestly, it’s been such a smooth experience. The setup was easy — the ink bottles were mess-free, and the app walked me through every step. The print quality is sharp for documents and surprisingly vibrant for photos. I also love that the ink lasts a long time and you can actually see how much is left through the tank window. It connects quickly to Wi-Fi, and I’ve printed from my phone several times without any issues. I took a picture of it sitting on my desk mid-print with one of my recipe cards coming out — it looks great and shows how well it handles color detail. Fits my needs nicely for my home office
I've only had it for a little over a month and I love the smaller size compared to my 2 previous hp printers. The plastic trays are flimsy compared to the heavier old printers, but I'm getting used to it. I think I will like the ink tanks much better than the old, expensive ink cartridges as I can easily see how much ink is available. The only little problem I've had is being patient... my older printers responded much faster, but I am still very pleased for the most part with this smaller printer.

Slight disappointment in HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-one
I am excited about the Smart Tank concept; not having to replace ink cartridges so frequently. However, I also have the need for frequent scanning of documents, many of which have many pages. The Smart Tank 6001 does not have a feeder tray, only a flat bed, allowing for one page at a time.

Envelope Pain
Easy to install and use, except for the awkward envelope feed. A top feed would be far easier to use than the current removal of the paper and top tray, along with the hard-to-reach feed guides. While printing on paper was good, I had to call hp to get a tech to install a driver that cured the fuzzy printing on envelopes.

Glad I Switched To A Smart Tank
My HP Envy stopped working and would only let me make copies (no scanning etc.) so I decided to get something that would help me to save on buying ink cartridges. The HP Smart Tank will help a lot in that respect--no more buying cartridges. From what I can see from the first few days of using this machine, it looks like I can now get back to doing all the things my old machine stopped doing. And that's a great feeling!

Adequate / Underwhelming
Was not able to print for several weeks after my HP Photosmart 7510 died and efforts to resuscitate it during these weeks were futile. After purchasing the HP Smart Tank 6001, was still not able to print for several more after receiving it due to immense difficulty in connecting it to my older (still) Windows 7 HP Pavilion HPE desktop computer -- which still runs above and beyond a perfectly well oiled machine. Instruction manual which came with the 6001 was a useless piece of garbage -- no information on how to troubleshoot based on problem indicators the 6001 was presenting. HP Tech support was horrific in trying to get this printer working with my computer -- 98% of HP Tech support I contacted either stated it couldn't be done with a Windows 7 computer, didn't care, were too lazy to provide deep assistance, or were just clueless about everything. Finally, in a last ditch effort, I reached a true gem of a professional and human being in HP Tech Support (Bruce) who spent 3 + hours on the phone with me to get everything working perfectly between the 6001 and my computer. It took me a total of 1 1/2 months to get printing again. What a massive pain! Still having problems scanning with the printer -- it not allowing you create PDF Complete documents through Windows Fax and Scan program (which it utilizes) and having to go through some lengthy arcane process to finally be able to scan to create a PDF Complete document. As well,there is a compatibility issue (it appears) between the Smart Tank 6001 and the PDF Complete software which has also rendered me unable to complete / edit scanned documents in the PDF Complete software -- and has also disconnected the printer from my computer in this process -- which required me to again re-contact (mostly horrible) HP Tech Support and spend immense amounts of time trying to get the printer re-connected to my computer. Overall, printer feels cheap and flimsy -- made out of "recycled who knows what?" -- not a solid piece of equipment like my previous HP Photosmart 7510. Examples being the scanner / copy lid, and the input / output paper trays. In fact, the guides on the input paper tray are horrific, not adjusting with ease and feeling like they will break if you push too hard to adjust -- and it often feeds the paper in slightly crooked as a result -- producing a crooked printout or copy. The bottled ink feature as compared to the previous cartridge ink I used with my old printer should prove to provide greater greater printing longevity per ink (bottle) purchased and greater ink cost savings over time. What more can be said? ..... other than I am at least doing basic printing / copying again even though problems still persist with scanning (per above). This is to say, the Smart Tank 6001 has been adequate, but underwhelming. Part and parcel with this, again, the vast majority of HP Tech Support has been horrible in assisting with all of this with a very few exceptions.

Print quality and Speed are great.
The print quality and speed are what we needed. We love how economical the bottles of ink are...so much cheaper for the quantity than the cartridges. Just like past HP printers we've had (6 so far), it goes offline at the most inopportune time. "All-in-One" printers are not all the same. Make sure that you verify that it has everything you need...including fax ability...if that is what you were expecting to have. Nothing with the review but wish I had purchased one with the automatic document feeder...pretty obvious this one does not but the "All-in-One" threw me off. Again, the print quality and speed are great.

Does this printer do well printing photos? I am an amateur photographer and I like to print my own pictures to sell and to share.
Thank you for your question! This HP SmartTank 6001 will do a good job printing photos. This is a good all-around printer for all uses. For best photo results the HP Envy Inspire printer is recommended.

I own it but wish I didn't. Can't even get instructions on how to print one lousy picture. Useless to me. How do you print a picture. How do you put the paper in. How do you take out the paper tray?????

I want to know how the paper is loaded in the smart printer 601 series I have an epson smart printer and I absolutely hate the way you put the paper into the printer

Can I add an Automatic Document Feeder to this product?
Thank you for your question, the HP Smart Tank 6001 model does not feature a document feeder. However the HP Smart Tank 7301, and 7602 models do feature this.

does this printer okay with ethernet cable?
This printer does not have an ethernet port in order to work with an ethernet cable. It does have a USB B 2.0 female port to do a hard-wired direct connection.
