Q: What happens to my unused pages?

If you do not use all your plan pages in a month, the unused pages will be kept in your account as rollover pages. Ink plans can roll over 3x the number of pages in your plan (Example: 150 pages if on the 50-page plan).

Q: What if my printing varies?

Don’t worry. You can change or cancel your plan anytime. And there’s no cancellation fee. If you print more, then you can purchase extra pages, sets of 10-15 pages for $2 (pages per set varies by plan).

Q: What happens if you cancel HP Instant Ink?

If you decide to cancel your HP Instant Ink, you can go back to using HP original Standard or XL cartridges. HP Instant Ink cartridges will not work after the end of the current billing cycle in which you cancel. To continue printing after your billing cycle ends, make sure you have standard replacement ink cartridges ready to use in your printer.

Q: Can you opt out of HP Instant Ink?

Yes, you can opt out of HP Instant Ink. There is no requirement to use HP Instant Ink. If you sign up for HP Instant Ink, you can always cancel or change plans at anytime.

If you decide to cancel your HP Instant Ink plan you can use HP original Standard or XL cartridges and, for non-HP+ printers, you can use HP original Standard or XL cartridges or 3rd party cartridges that are compatible with your HP printer. Plan upgrades are effective immediately and the charges will be applied retrospectively or in the next billing cycle, depending on user choice. Yearly plans are prepaid at 12 times the monthly rate, minus a 10% discount; Additional 10% discount no longer valid after cancellation; early billing cycle end if pages exhausted, auto-renewal unless cancelled; option to stop auto-renewal at any time; charge at sign-up with partial refund if cancelled within 30 days; pages printed during 30-day cancellation period count towards yearly subscription; cannot cancel yearly plan and get refund after the 30-day cancellation period; 12-month duration, flexible page usage throughout the billing year; no rollovers or overages to the next billing year; no plan pause; Each printer can enroll in and cancel the Yearly Plan up to three times before becoming ineligible.

Pay As You Print pages do not expire while you remain on the plan. However, if you cancel the service or switch to a Monthly plan, any unused pages exceeding the rollover limit (3× the monthly plan's page allowance) will expire.

For Monthly Plan, rollover allows unused pages in a month to be placed in a rollover account and then applied to pages in excess of your monthly allowance. The rollover account balance is limited to a maximum of three times your monthly plan’s page allotment (Example: you can roll over up to 150 pages if you are enrolled in a 50 page plan.). For Yearly Plan, unused pages do not roll over to the next year and are not available for future use. If you switch from a Monthly Plan to a Yearly Plan, only unused pages from additional page sets purchased during your final monthly billing cycle will carry over, and they remain available until used or until the end of your first Yearly Period, whichever comes first; all other unused Monthly Plan pages are forfeited and will not be available under the Yearly Plan.
