Having duplex printing is an important feature for us and it prints remarkably fast in this mode. The compact size is also a bonus, it has a smaller footprint than we imagined.

In the hopes of entering the home laser jet market with something I could afford now, I bought this printer. It connected just fine the first time to Wi-Fi. And now, it neve stays connected. What a waste of money. Upgrade and get a Canon instead—wish I had just saved up the money and waited.

OK printer but slow print speed with a pause (presumed to be data buffering) every two pages and the 700 page mono black cartridge only manages 500 pages in our printer giving a higher cost per page than the previous HP 4 cartridge colour printer it replaced.

Rated 1 out of 5 by leep12 from The worst Laserjet ever. As a 15+ purchaser of HP Laserjet printers, I have to say this is the worst! I have never had such problems as I have had with this printer. It constantly loses wifi connection. The set up for connecting to the wifi is cumbersome. The worst part is that the power and input button are located at the paper tray. If someone bumps into it, it loses connection. It prints fine but it is just a bad design. I only use Laserjet printers for my business and will continue to do so but will NEVERY buy another M234. I recommend using the Pro series. They are workhorses. Do not fool around with this 200 series.

Rated 1 out of 5 by itdoesntwork from Not compatable with Windows 7 PRO SP2 Nine hours of effort with our IT Manager and HP Support could not get the printer to send an application print file that the printer would accept. It would send a test page from the HP software successfully. The print file sent from Word or Excel blinked in the "See what's printing" view; but would not print. Returned printer. Don't buy this printer if you use Windows 7.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NotITStosh from Frustrating to Install, Wonderful to use Printer works excellent. Copies photos scans, and works wonderfully. My issue was getting it installed. Too many hoops, advertisements, and 12 different links just to get it installed properly and there isn't a specific manual for it on how to connect it to your wifi. I shouldn't need an IT person to install a printer. You'll probably want to get the USB cable that connects to this printer to make installation a bit easier and settle on calling IT to get it wirelessly connected to wifi.

It will not copy 2-sided (from the document feeder), which I was led to believe it could. Copying from and to A4 format still copies as if size US-letter, the bottom part of the text on the page is missing. Nowhere can I find how to set it. Printing only one envelope requires removing all the paper out of the paper tray; there is no single page/envelope feeder. Again, perhaps there is but I can't find it in a manual. Sometimes the WiFi connection seems to be lost, and I can't use the HP Smart app until after I restarted my computer.

how do you turn off two-sided copying?

Hello. Thanks for your question. You can change the printing default to one-sided. For Windows: The easiest way to get to the "Printer Preferences" is through the printer and scanner settings. From the start menu, type printer, and scanner settings. Once you get there, look for your printer. Click on it. Then Manage. Then, printer preferences. Go to "Print on Both Sides" and toggle to "None". Finally, select Apply.
