This problem requires a complete restart of both the printer and the computer to resolve. This issue is not only time-consuming but also frustrating. Despite this recurring issue, the printer performs well with high-quality prints and fast printing speeds. The setup process is straightforward, and the printer is easy to use. It also has a range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet. Overall, the HP Laserjet MFP M140w is a reliable printer that performs well for basic printing needs. Downsized my home in retirement and needed a small footprint printer scanner for occasional use and I had a preference for laser. This really fit the bill: small, compact, easy to set up and move around yet powerful to meet my needs. Using the app to manage the functions and connect was a bit of a learning curve initially for me but I quickly learned and now prefer wireless and remote printing. The cartridge that came with it didn’t last long but I was expecting that tbh. Replacements are in the average price point of most other printers. The print quality and function is excellent in my opinion. Clean, crisp B&W printouts and reasonably quick. I scan documents periodically and that functionality is great too - I often scan directly into my cloud and this product offers that in a seamless manner. Absolutely no complaints and would recommend this printer.

The startup brochure did not allow for me to find the correct drivers for computer software and this printer, so I wound up paying $300+ for a tech team to make my computer recognize the printer and vice versa.

Is it required that the paper tray to be down whenever I print ? Or is that just to load the paper.

Hello. Thanks for your question. The paper tray is where you load the blank paper. You could remove it and close the paper tray when you are not printing. Just be sure to remove the paper before closing the paper tray.

I am trying to assist my daughter in setting up this printer, but the internet service in her dorm is poor and difficult to use. Is there a way to directly print from her Macbook to this printer without used wifi?

Wireless Direct (WiFi Direct) allows you to directly connect to a printer from a mobile device or computer without the need for internet access or a wireless network. You would connect to the printer’s wireless direct signal just like you would connect to a wireless network. The printer would have a unique name in your wireless connections, i.e. Direct-04-Printer.
