Excellent product & customer service
I upgraded my HP Office Ink Jet to HP 3301sdw Laser Jet printer and I couldn't be happier.
Easy setup to my PC via WiFi. I'm almost done with the starter ink cartridges that came with the printer. I know it's going to be expensive to replace but I needed a more powerhouse quality printer for my needs.
Customer service via "chat" (I prefer to text) was great. All my questions were answered and I felt good about my purchase because of that. Also, when the chat is complete, you have an option to save the chat for future reference.
All my laptops, printers, and PC's are HP. As long as they continue to produce quality products and maintain their customer service, they'll have a customer for life.

Printer arrived damaged and HP will not make good on it
Printer arrived with a cracked paper feeder tray. There was no damage to the shipping container and the printer was snuggly packed in styrofoam inside the box, so it was an obvious quality control failure. After spending several hours on the phone with HP customer support, I was told that they could not send a replacement tray, and that I needed to ship the entire printer back before a replacement could be shipped. I could not be without a printer, so I finally convinced the agent to ship the new printer and then I would return the damaged one. There was also a hassle over the price since the original purchase had received a Black Friday discount that could no longer be honored for the replacement printer, thus incurring an additional $100 in cost. I finally convinced the agent to agree to charge the difference but issue a credit for the difference once the damaged printer was received back at HP and inspected. I thought that the matter was resolved, but now HP is not shipping the replacement printer. It was due to be received by 12/25/2025 but now at the time of writing this review (01/01/2026), it has not even been shipped and I cannot get an update on the shipping status.

I am very happy with the print quality and speed ... would be happy to write a nice review EXCEPT it seems impossible to actually talk with someone at HP to find out how to return my previous HP printer which they might want to put a print head in and re-sell or how to return my unopened ink.
I tried to contact someone when I needed printer help, but haven't found a way to reach them ... and a chat with AI is not acceptable.

So far, the printer works well with minimal issues. Only issue in the beginning is getting it to connect/reconnect with wi-fi when it's been "asleep" for a while. Printing quality is very good.

The HP Color LJ MFP 3301fdw scanner's sheet feeder scans crooked every time I use it. I bought this printer initially from Staples, then returned it. I then ordered the exact same printer direct from HP. I have the exact same issues with the second printer direct from HP, the scans are crooked when using the sheet feeder. The HP mobile app will not not find the printer; the app is useless to me. The scanning software is crap. I am really very disappointed in HP. This has been extremely frustrating to deal with.

Great Printer but reduce the toner cartridge.
Awesome printer, scanner, and copier. Please reduce the price on the extra toner. I am a dedicated HP printer owner. I love the fact you can send back the toner cartridge for recycling. Keep that up. Give us credit for that and reduce the cost at least 30 dollars each cartridge.

HP - The Company of Few Words
I would rate the quality of printed material poduced by this pinter as excellent. It boots up quicker than most, with less "mechanical fanfare" than most other MFP machines i now have and have had in the past. It is substantially quieter when printing, which it does at a fairly rapid pace for a machine of its class.
I have one concern and that is how tough it may be to get a warm body at HP to respond to correspondence to them. Shortly after the purchase, I discoverd there was a substantial discount in effect at the time I purchased my machine and seveal days later. No response to at least two attempt to contact.
Additionally, would a disc loaded with software and drivers really break the bank? Would have been nice to hear from someone at HP on that question.
I have been an HP customer (too many printers to remember, several each of deskop/notebook/laptop computers) all my digitally-ruled life (well over 40 years), until this need for a printer. Suddenly, the halls of HP are silent!!
The paper tray will require a little time to become familiar with but I suppose it shows some forward-looking innovation!

The build quality of this printer is a joke. I bought it directly from hp. I was misled as to the scanning function. The scanner is terrible. Out of the box, the printer is not working properly.

This is my second HP color laser Jet. My first one lasted ten years and was still working when it was replaced. The new HP printer I purchased was very easy to set up and no issues were identified. I use the printer daily while doing ancestry research, printing and scanning of photos and documents.

Extremely Poor Experience and Returning Product
I received a refurbished printer late and had to pay for printing materials for my birthing clients. I have also already run out of ink, and am going to have to purchase all new ink cartridges, which will cost more than the printer itself. I am going to return the equipment.

Printer hasn’t worked since day 1. No response from HP
This printer has not worked since day one. I talked to the AI at HP and they said that a live person would call me. They never did all of the fixes I got on HP website and on YouTube said to do everything with the little pad the pad does not light up. It has a HP symbol with colored dots flowing across. I’ve tried unplugging it plugging it back in still no luck. The only thing that seemed to help was leaving it unplugged for 2 to 3 days then it would print, maybe one paper and then would go into the Dots moving across the HP symbol. I’m very upset about this. I’ve gotten scammed before so I looked up your numbers and there are at least six that I found so I’m afraid to call those. I have always had HP printers. I will never buy one again. Please have somebody call about this or text me.

I ordered this device on January 22, 2025 to replace my previous unreliable printer. Unfortunately, since installing the new printer, my computer has displayed numerous unspecific and unhelpful error messages about the printer; the printer itself has repeatedly reported that the paper trays were empty when in fact they were loaded; the display has reported a paper jam which I could solve only by taking all the paper out of Paper Tray 1; the printer sometimes ignores the command to print on both sides of the paper; often it has failed to print without even offering an error message; and a few times it has turned itself off.

Unpleasant set up experience.
The printer’s password wasn’t correct and didn’t match with the serial number. That problem made it difficult to set up the printer. Didn’t realize that the fax feature that i had on the previous laserjet was not available on this one. The HP helpline phone number was difficult to find, thus getting an expert to help was difficult.

Hp had no record of the serial number on the delivered product. The PIN required to unlock various functions on the machine was not recognizable to allow HP assistance to proceed. It took me 6 hours on the phone to reach a representative who told me what i just noted above. That resulted in me being assigned a case number for specific technical help. after two hours of trying to solve the issues the tech rep suggested replacing the unit (which was 2 weeks old) with a new machine. I was unpleasantly surprised when, in exchange for my brand new printer, I was presented with a "fully reconditioned" machine. Again, it required HP tech support to straighten out the warranty term on the reconditioned printer. HP records showed a 3 week warranty remained before expiration. Again, this required the better part of 2 hours of hands-on tech support to get the machine working properly. Overall the experience I had setting up the pc and printer was a nightmare. When either of these machines reaches it terminal state I will be looking for a DELL solution.
