Rated 1 out of 5 by JKinCO from Continuous disconnect The only consistent action is the ability to disconnect from the computer despite the fact is is connected via cable and on the same network. I have to power off/power the printer on every couple days to reconnect which is quite inconvenient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JoeUnhappy from Updates to web services, removal of web scan Had this for years. HP updates to using web services through a server and removal of web scan to my PC as well as the infamous off line problem (requires a reboot) turned a once good printer into a dog. Went to different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BTinAZ from Print Head Issues! Do not buy HP printers! The printer has been great up to this point. Now it has a printer head issue. The funny thing is, when I unplug the unit and plug it back it's able to print a test page before the error shows up again. What is that about? And the printer head is as much as the printer? If I can't get this going, then I will be in the market for a new one. I'm 100% certain it won't be an HP.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dawn410 from I've had this printer for over 10 years and has worked great. However if one printer cartridge is depleted it will not print documents which a huge inconvenience. Their should be a way to override this feature especially if most of the time the black cartridges are used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by alexg5017 from Complete garbage! Buying a useless paper weight! What a garbage product. First of all we bought 2 of these printers. One for me & one for my fathers house, so two different networks & PC's, but both PC's are HP's. These printers dont stay connected to network for two days straight. I've spent more time trying to reconnect to network & printer claiming it cant find PC on the same network as the night before. I know HP going to claim it has to do with firewall blocking it. But I've done that route already too and sure enough after adding it to allowed devices on antivirus the printer died the next day. What a waste of money. We have an Epson at work and zero issues once we connected to network, 2 years & its only lost connecting once with the same antivirus on our PC's. I will never buy an HP printer again!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Devolin81 from Planet destroyer I bought this 4 years ago for a premium. It’s been used an average amount, and now it won’t print because of a “printhead” error. A cursory search online finds this to be a common fault of this machine. It’s hundreds of dollars to replace, but why would I do that when I can buy a new printer for way less. Then this goes to the landfill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Julie the ED from Constant ADF error that can't be cleared Apparently, if you look up the matter in forums, the phantom jam in the ADF document feeder has been a real issue with this model. It does not matter if I do the suggested fixes, the computer still comes up with the error and it frequently can't be cleared. Last time we took it in for repair and it came out working for a few weeks. Then we were able to reset it ourselves a few times. Now the error appears to be fatal. Nothing is jammed in the document feeder, and the printer will not function.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JohnDeereJIm from Love/Hate Relationship I bought this printer five years ago and had I not paid so much money for it I'd have recycled it a long time ago. It does have almost all the features I like in a printer. A feature it doesn't have is a separate feed drawer for photo papers. Its main trade mark seemed to be paper jams. The were days I needed to print several hundred pages. When the printer worked right, I could print 100 pages in 50 minutes. But there were days when I couldn't get out more than 50 pages and I spent lots of time on the phone with HP support people who were always polite and helped. This product is discontinued, probably with good cause, but there are lots of new ones available. If you are looking for a bargain price on a discontinued product, avoid this one like the plague!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Joe J from Doesn't last more than 2 years with moderate use The print head is out (tried new ink, re-calibrated, re-aligned & cleaned). Still no luck, having blurred fonts and images. Will not spend my valuable time or money on this series of HP printer again. I have other HP's that are work horses & will buy those instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jackasic from worst HP printer ever had it for two years. Daily you either have to restart the printer or run Scan Doc to fix it. Load paper poorly, always defaults to use the colored ink (even on b&w), but at least the print quality and functionality suck. DO NOT BUY ONE!!!!!

I have to connect usb cable in order to print as I am fed up with the offline status.

It is a little slow to start printing and it seems to stop in the middle of print jobs to take a breath but, all in all, I like this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dan42This from This product is well made and easy to use. This printer easy to set up, and wireless connection established without problems. I was very disappointed that it does not print pictures as my previous printer did, I did not realize that was missing until I got the printer. Also, I miss the copy feature my last printer had, I am unable to copy pages from magazines or from newspapers. I will have to find some other way to do those tasks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ron53 from Only one problem Bought this printer at a great price. It has excellent features and work and prints very well. The only problem is this printer is not supported in Windows 10 which I did not know at the time of purchase. I have a computer which will not support windows 10 so there is no problem, I just have two printers for two computers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ellen08 from Full-featured, excellent images, and fast My 7310 printer/scanner wore out, and the 8620 is the replacement. The print and copy speed is great, and the images are excellent. I was in the middle of a scanning project when I installed the 8620 and was able to continue that project with no problems. I am on Windows 10 and had the usual frustrations with drivers but the downloads from HP worked. I chose to hard-wire the printer to our network, knowing from past experience with an HP 7610 that wireless can be troublesome ("unavailable"). I am not interested in the auto ink ordering, and was glad I had done enough web research to know how to avoid getting signed up for that. Like our other HP printers, the 8620 is picky about paper and often feeds multiple pages at one time. We gave up on recycled paper and have had no problems with HP 24lb paper. I would like to be able to completely turn off the Fax capability and eliminate the unused fax in my list of devices. It looks like it will be as good a workhorse as the 7310, and I like the speed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Leslee30 from Wish I'd checked the site All good so far, easy to set up and have just printed out a photo which is great. When registering online I found the great special - virtually half price! In future I will check sites prior to buying anything rather than buying retail. I used labels in my last printer (HP6520) and they stuck to the rollers, from this incident onward I had continual paper jams; this is an upgrade so am looking forward to hassle free performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by bobbyl from Ok but needs improvement Wish had second tray or a single sheet feed. To print envelope have to empty paper tray. Paper tray catches on output tray. Several times have to turn off and back on so it reconnects to computer. Have to leave it disconnected from phone line as it thinks some cell phone calls are faxes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Handyman1041 from Stay away from all officejet pro 86xx series print These printers have big issues with paper jams and ink cartridges and the duplex component. Also, when a color cartridge runs out.. it won't print even if you use black ink only option?? The 86xx series is by far the worst printer you could buy. I was offered a $50 gift card for all my troubles, I don't need to buy more trouble. Thank you

Rated 1 out of 5 by ThePrintheadsFail from Wouldn't buy without replacement printhead So HP took the HP Officejet Pro 8600 series printers with a beautifully designed exterior and excellent features (except for a problematic printhead reported by many users including me that they didn't fix), and downgraded it to what they now call the HP Officejet Pro 8620 for the 8600 Plus (and 8630 for the 8600 Premium). Not only is the boxy design of the 8620 uglier compared to the old 8600 Plus (and the 8630 compared to the 8600 Premium), they stripped the printer memory down from 512MB to 128MB, and so the scan resolution went down from 4800x4800 dpi to 1200x1200 dpi and printing is much slower than advertised. Btw the beautiful 8600 Plus is now marketed under a new name HP Offficejet Pro 276dw. A quick search will tell you all you need to know about the problem with the printheads. Without it, your printer is effectively a piece of furniture…at least the 8600 Plus and Premium look beautiful. My advice is since the printerhead costs as much as the printer, I wouldn’t buy this series of printers until HP can offer reasonably priced printhead replacements, in case your printhead dies after the warranty expires...which is likely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Piluina from Estupenda Es una excelente impresora.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Smoothie from Not recommended This product does offer great features, but performance is underwhelming and I've had several issues that I needed tech support and online assistance to resolve. I've wasted reams of paper and lots of ink troubleshooting this printer. Wireless printing has been unreliable, slow and sometimes it prints the whole document and sometimes it doesn't. Scan to computer feature is sporadic as well. I've had this printer less than two months and I have spent hours troubleshooting the problems. I would not recommend this printer to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdminTom from Excellent Printer The HP 8620 was easy to set up. Fedora 23 Linux automatically set up the printer without any problems. I then configured the Wi-Fi for my HP laptop. I had to have the Win 10 search for the printer. It found it without problems. However, I had to restart the Win 10 laptop before the printer was available to print. The Win 10 laptop printed to the HP 8620 using Wi-Fi without any problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ken57 from Allegedly great features, only fair performance We are both Australian in Queensland retired using our HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer at home. I have always been able to convince my wife that HP is the best forget the rest. It looks as though I must now eat my words. We have used exclusively HP printers for eight years now. Previously I was an International Civil Servant and the performance of the printers the United Nations used both at HQ and in the field was remarkable and set my mind for me. We have had our HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer for seven months and I have defended this machine when it failed many times and if it were not for HP Doctor all would be lost. In the first few months, apart for a few hiccups, the performance was real good like all the others I have had. I have considerable difficulty maintaining connection of the fax (for this is the reason we bought it) which ticked off my wife as she relied on these for her business. We use this machine with Wi-Fi however connection (despite having a very good service) fails regularly. We regularly needed to print legal dox to be scanned for re-transmission and there lies another problem. We operate with Windows 10 and correct me if I am wrong; but why do we receive so many error messages indicating the machine must have "extra" added to complete the marry up (ALREADY DONE). It is very difficult to find a shortcut to use the scan to computer from the computer so we must have the Printer shortcut in my browser to enable scanning quickly. After seeing so many negative reviews I can now justify telling you my story and how unhappy I am with your machine right now. We will bee soon going shopping to purchase another (hopefully HP) printer that can in fact Print, copy, scan, fax, Web. This is exactly why we need a printer to do this at home, before the warranty on this machine is finished. Never done that before! Over to you now, Ken!

Rated 1 out of 5 by MichelleM68 from The worst printer I have ever purchased! I previously owned an HP Officetjet Pro 8500, and I currently have 2 HP Officejet Pro 8600s. I was very happy with them. So, I purchased the HP Officejet Pro 8620. It takes about 2 minutes to print a page. Doesn't matter if it is directly connected to the computer or set up wirelessly. I have spent at least 10 hours on the phone with HP, resulting in them sending me a refurbished 8620, that performs the same way. They refuse to do anything more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bluesky from Excellent Features but Mediocre Performance The 8600 series has great features for a home office. You can scan, copy and print with ease...i.e., when the printer works. The problem is that it will probably die on you long before the so-called "30,000 per month duty cycle." I used mine for a total of approximately 16,000 printed pages in the over 3 years I have had the printer (i.e., less than an average of 450 pages per month) and the printhead is kaput. The trouble is since the printhead costs $120 and you can find the 8610 and 8620, respectively for $80 and $160, you basically have to chuck it when the printhead goes.

I keep getting error messages, it needs to run off of wifi but wont connect half of the time. It has printed out symbols instead of my e-mails, it feeds multiple pages at a time, and prints half on one, and half on another. It will not scan to my computer either. The best part, I scan for errors and it says nothing is wrong. I have been able to get 2 pages to print properly in the last month, and have wasted WAYYY too many pieces of paper. I am VERY unsatisfied with this thing. Garbage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by sadsack from not as good as older models, I have always had HP colour printing is poor, previous unit C410a I use to do my own fliers and warranty cards. Was told this would be as good, functions are very basic which limits versatility, I suspect it is only due to software and not having a photo cartridge, although that does not explain dull reds. Have to print on draft to speed it up, but even that is slower than the old one. Don't want any of the new photo printers because of Tri-colour cartridges just waste money, the ink is already more expensive than Gold. Running on i7computer 3.6GHz, 16GbDDR3, 240GbSSD and 2Tb HDD started on Windows 8.1 now 10
