Rated 5 out of 5 by Decader from Workhorse I’ve had this little machine since 2015 and it’s still working like a champ. Prints color & double sided, scans 35 pages from a document feeder, and I can deal with the noise. I’m impressed it’s still running!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Girlwithoutherprinter from An awesome product I now have to replace I loved, loved, loved this printer! Now, after years of replacing ink and operating flawlessly, she is sitting on my kitchen floor, full of new ink cartridges, but after getting the printhead displaced or needs cleaning, and researching on YouTube how to do it, I’m just not comfortable with trying to take it apart and restore it. It was an excellent, awesome, printer. I had an Epsom printer but it is not working properly. I purchased what I thought was the replacement model, 8025e, but I’m not sure it was replaceable. Very sad.

Rated 1 out of 5 by evekyn from Works for a month then never works again. Everyone I see who has given this 5 stars has reviewed it almost immediately after buying, and I would have done the same. However, this printer now gives me an error for every possible thing. Missing printhead or unable to connect to wifi or sometimes it just stops mid print as if its given up. I am typing this review at 12 in the morning after working on it for 2 hours trying to get it to work, and I've finally given up after years of this. I'm buying a new printer that's not HP. Not worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Al and Sandy from 7+ yrs and Still Going !!!!!!! We bought this printer in2014 as our primary home office printer. It has preformed flawlessly. We average a 100 pages a month and it has never had an issue with printing for home or internet. If there is one weak spot it would be the scan to computer. Regular scanning has been great but scanning to email or computer can have issues from time to time and require a reset. Overall I can not be more pleased with the performance and reliability of this printer!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Greekbear from Fond Farewell Octo He was more then a printer, his name was Octo, he could handle 8 jobs at once, printing, scanning, copying, with internet and USB connectivity with INK that never ran out. He was the best printer ive ever had in my entire life. i believe it had been 8 years with him and he never once failed me. Thousands upon Thousands of pages he has gone through but on his final day 1/28/22 he got the dreaded error "Missing or Failed Printhead" we have tried every fix in the book and videos and alas we could not bring Octo back. Today i am here to honor Octo and give him the rating he deserves 6/5 stars Good Bye Octo

Rated 5 out of 5 by CMedrano from Bought in 2015 and it runs 100% PERFECT in 2021 I have moved across the country three times since 2015 and this little printer has fought like the little soldier it is. I am ex ARMY and own my own consulting business and this printer is on point every time and has been without fail since 2015. I couldn't be more impressed with HP! The techs are awesome and I enrolled in the ink subscription and they send me ink before I even know I'm low for the los cost of 6.99 a month. I couldn't be happier. I recommend it to all my friends!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bp61 from Don’t buy 8610 if you mostly use black and white If you just want to print something in black and white, this printer requires full color cartridges. So if one color is out and black is full, it won’t print black. Now can’t print simple sheet without buying $75 in color cartridges I don’t really need. Seems like that little tidbit Of info. should be on the box

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sherri287 from Good printer. I work in a small office but we do a lot of printing. We have had this printer for 5 years and other than being slow (if you are printing 53 two sided pages while someone is waiting) it is a great printer. A few years back I returned to the store to purchase one of these for my home. It was unavailable and I purchased the closet model the store had, 8710. I am very disappointed in how quickly the ink dries up with little use of the 8710.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lindazhang from My Favorite Home Office Printer I bought this printer 2-3 years ago and it is PERFECT for my every day needs. Rated 1 out of 5 by Sean4323342 from Won't feed cardstock It won't print cardstock, or anything that is remotely thick. Think twice before buying this printer. Although it has cardstock settings they wont work. If you're printing word documents it's fine. But picture quality leaves a lot to be desired.

First I could not print wireless off of my computer, and now I can not use the scanner. Sometimes the printer will not even print documents I send to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DJPBKL from Replacement paper tray I have owned this product for about 18 months. I need to purchase a replacement paper tray, but the prices found for an available tray are ridiculous. A rebuilt tray runs in the mid $60s plus freight, which is almost a third of the original purchase price. I will start buying very cheap printers and replace them every year and save money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 78456 from Good Idea, POOR Performance New 2/17/2015 - I've had so many problems with it I've lost track. When it did work the photos were mediocre at best. It's one plus, few paper jams.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dustie927 from Great for a while then kaput! I love the features and dependability of HP printers... that is until they die. This is my second all in one printer that I've had to toss out. It was very lightly used and probably printed 1500 total copies in its lifetime of 3 years. All of the sudden it stated that one or more of my print cartridges may be damaged. I took them out and put them back in but still the error message. I contacted HP instant ink and they sent me all new cartridges. I thought for sure that would take care of the error message and my printer would work just fine. Nope. So I called HP customer support and a gentleman walked me through a couple of processes hoping it would fix my problem but to no avail. I ended up having to buy a new printer. There must be something wrong with these printers after a few years, I don't know, but I wish HP would get it together. I was so disappointed that I had to throw this printer out because when it worked, it worked very well. I did absolutely nothing to it to make it stop working and have that error message. This is why I gave it a 3.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Thays from Worst printer EVER I bought this printer from Best Buy about 1 year ago. It worked perfectly until it went out f ink. Now that i spent over $150 on ink it will freeze all the time, usually takes more than 5 minutes to start printing something (when it doesn't just cancel the printing process because it's taking too long). I bought this product because I always had HP printers and wanted to upgrade to something that could meet all my needs, but clearly it can't even do what it's made for: print. Disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by KK3330 from Paper loading problems I've had problems ever since I purchased it. It doesn't always grab the paper correctly so I waste a lot of paper and ink. The edge to edge, isn't, and it can't grab the business card paper correctly either. It doesn't work with heavier paper, even premium presentation paper. I have always had HP printers but now I am sure I made a mistake purchasing this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TOY350 from DO NOT BUY! I bought this to replace my worn out 8600 which served me very well. Unfortunately the 8610 doesn't even compare to the 8600. Scanning is so slow I had to purchase a separate scanner, the 8600 was adequate but the 8610 is ridiculous. Printing is not good either. Quality is great but sometimes it takes a while for the print job to even start. While printing it will randomly pause in the middle of the page for 5-10 seconds which is annoying when you are reaching for the printed material and see a page only half way done. I thought a newer model would be an upgrade but sadly that is not the issue with this one. If you want quality and durability but don't care how long it takes to work then this will work for you but if you need your all in one to work quickly then you should look elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LASA from Sorry I Bought It I purchased this printer to replace a wide body that has given up after four years of very hard use. I am so sorry I purchased it. It jams up about every other print job and is printing so slowly that I could take a nap between pages. There is no way it is printing 14 ppm in color - it's not coming close to that in black and white. I purchased this model because I wanted separate ink cartridges for the colored ink and I wanted to give the ink program a try. I have only had this set up for a few days and I think it has to go back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RobertS5 from Excellent Wi-Fi Features For anyone running a business that requires special regulatory compliance measures you'd be pleased to know this printer offers 802.1X wireless authentication using EAP-TLS. Not having to spend excessive amounts of money for enterprise printing equipment at a small business for this protocol support is extremely satisfying, however, I will say that HP largely lacks in documentation for these features aside from a footnote that they are supported in their system specs. One really has to figure out the HP software for themselves if they plan on implementing any of these sophisticated capabilities.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jupitermap from Beware of added costs I have two HP printers and love the HP Scan and print doctor app to help when in trouble. When this printer works it is a great printer. HOWEVER, after one year your costs escalate. After one year, both all in one inject printers needed new printheads. The replacement part is over $100.00. The printhead cost exceeds the cost for a new Inkjet all in one printer and the new Printhead needed to be replaced after one year. So it is cheaper to buy a new printer than buy the printhead. You are now left with a very large and cumbersome paperweight. I was an HP Fan but now I posses two large all in one printers that are just paper weights with two non functioning expensive printheads I will not buy HP printers again

Rated 4 out of 5 by Redsled1947 from Great Printer This is a really good printer with lots of features. Would have liked to seen duplex scanning but not a deal breaker. The ONLY negative is the price of replacement ink. $100+ for ink on a printer that cost less than $100 is something HP needs to address. or advertise as a "Use it then throw away when the ink runs out" printer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cherlitagl from Did not feed HP Photo paper Out of the box issue. This printer would not feed genuine HP Premium photo paper on any setting. Appears to be a design flaw or bug, as I've read several reports of this occurring on the OfficeJet Pro 8600 series. HP Support was AWESOME! Walked me through all the "fixes", which did not work. They sent me a replacement printer, which had the same issue. I returned both printers for a full refund. Printer worked great for regular paper, so if you are not planning on printing photos, then you should have no issues with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DamianG from Great printer easy set up I had the printer in my home for 3 months and it was so easy to set up and I was able to print from all devices that's connected to my network. I decided to take this printer and have it in the office replacing my laser printer there because I subscribed to the HP INSTANT ink . 9.99 for 300 pages with rollover is more cost effective than my laser printer. I believe the people that are complaining about the printer eating too much ink is that they are still using the original ink that it came with. Those are trial ink . And by the way, I still have those installed and it's just about to run out after 4 months . not bad . So over all , this printer is a great buy for the price .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ellyn from Best printer I've ever had I do a lot of design and therefore print quite a few things. This printer is able to handle thicker card stock, as well as do a phenomenal job on general tasks such as resumes and reports. My biggest concern was wondering if it could take the card stock because the type I use is quite thick, but aside from having to reload the tray a few times, it hasn't let me down! Great for everything and anything, including photos and reliability!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Windyw from Minor issues with no solutions This printer is picky about paper. I cannot print a single business check (3-per sheet checks with one left on sheet). The printer setup paper size must match exactly what is in the printer, there is no way to customize the setting, so there is no way to print that last leftover check whenever I don't print in multiples of three. I'm also used to just popping in one piece of cardstock on top of my regular paper if I need to and this printer won't allow that. I have to remove all the copy paper, add the one piece of same-sized cardstock, make sure I change the settings to cardstock and then print. Most of the time it feeds the cardstock at that point. I still sometimes get a paper out error. These would have been deal breakers if I'd known before purchasing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wahoo565 from Very poor and not compatible with windows 10. Very poor and not compatible with windows 10. I had 2 Office Jet printers that I could not get connected to windows 10 on an HP computer. I talked to salesman at Office Max who said the 8610 was compatible. I bought the printer and essentials kit which included a setup service. I am pretty savvy about printers and such. I tried to setup myself, but could not get the disk to load. I tried through OM who then referred me to HP. I was on the phone with them for about 4 hours. They got the printer setup, but only partial. now will not scan or print. I wonder if HP makes a printer that is setup for windows 10 right from the box instead of having to spend many hours on phone with HP and still not get fully installed. I am sure there is something on disk that is useful, but still not installed on computer.
