The connectivity is unreliable. Sure it prints ok but oh my god its like this thing is allergic to wifi. I hate you need to have an account, username, and password just to print a lousy sheet of paper. I hate you need a separate app entirely in order to use it. It eats ink like a kid in who hides their food by throwing it under the table. Hate it hate it hate it.

True, it is doing the job of printing but scanning and copying have yet to be tested. This printer relies heavily on "light shows" to tell the operator what's going on rather than messages that can be displayed either on the computer or on a screen, like the HP Envy 4510 series had. Bottom line - not too impressed.

Now that we are able to print with it, it eats the paper every single time and jams. We are in the process of returning it.

However, I hate the home screen on the printer because it doesn't have any choices on it. If you want to change settings you have to do it online/through the app.

If it's not having issues with detecting it on my wireless network, it's issues with completely full ink cartrdiges and poor print quality.

It's always offline, never can connect to WIFI, when I tried to use a universal cord to directly connect to my laptop it would register that connection and still not print. I've had so many problems with this printer and the HP smart I'm honestly frustrated to the point of tossing it.

I would try to print my second beautiful flower picture, the printer would not!! I tried again several times. This printer would not print. I would wait a second day then it finally would printer a new picture. Of course, once again, that was it.

Had to reinstall the printer which is too complicated and takes so long it seems like it isn’t working. Tried to use it, black ink is supposedly empty, replaced the cartridge, still won’t print in black. Cleaned heads, etc etc, still won’t print black. $100 to print a handful of photos, next stop the dumpster. Last HP was the same way, always had to fight with something to get it to work. Done w HP products.

Printing from my tablet is a hit or miss scenario, either not recognizing the printer or shutting down. Even through the 'app' it’s a slow laborious process without guaranteed success. Considering buying a cable and going old school. Another annoyance is the multitude of bright lights that are constantly on and blinding when headed for a late night bathroom stop. Also - this printer does NOT support legal-size paper printing. Something we overlooked when purchasing so don’t get fooled.

Office says it is offline. Try to turn off the wi-fi and back on but it won't turn back on. Always something is wrong and I have issues trying to print. The software sucks. It sucks to have to log into an app just to print a document anyways. I will never purchase another HP printer.

It is unnecessarily complex to use, does not want to connect to my wifi, and I spend much more time trying to get it to print than actually printing anything. When it does print, it is of good quality. I have spent more time googling how to get it to connect and/or print than I have actually printing anything. Not recommended.

I am constantly having issues with the Envy 6055 going offline. What do I do?

If you have an Apple product the HP printer has trouble communicating.   Try this work-around 1. make note of the non-printed document, then 2. unplug the printer, 3. wait 1 to 3 minutes, 4. then plug in the printer, t5. hen wait while it re-boots, 6. then re-locate your document and 7. order the print.  This daily re-booting often works.

I've used HP for over 20 years. I recently bought the 6052e for home use to print and scan via usb. It's the worst printer I've ever encountered at work before I retired, or home. It will not work correctly for scanning. BEWARE OF THESE 6000 printers!

HP Team Grant -- Thank you for your reply. But I spent almost two days on the phone with HP support. We finally gave up (HP person and me). It only prints -- HP computer, updated software, won't recognize printer for scanning. (but will print from computer).

Can you print from the scanner?

Your specs on this printer says it can not print from scanner. Which to means you scan to a file, will not print directly from scanner. Which means it does not function a copier. You can save as a copy then print the file. This is posted on Amazon for this printer.

How do you turn the light off when not using it?

I've been turning it off every night to quell the LED light. I will be curious to see if there is a fix for this. In the meantime, the power button is recessed on the back of the printer.
