We've all seen eco-friendly packaging, like egg cartons or phone boxes, made from molded fiber. It's a great alternative to plastic, as it's recyclable and biodegradable. The problem? Traditional methods of making molded fiber packaging are slow and expensive. But don't worry—we've got a solution!
At HP, we've developed an advanced technology that makes creating custom molded fiber packaging faster, more cost-effective, and even more eco-friendly. It's called the Molded Fiber Advanced Tooling Solution, and it uses our cutting-edge digital manufacturing and 3D printing technology.
The old way of making molded fiber involved using heavy, expensive metal tools. Our new solution gets rid of those metal tools and replaces them with lightweight, environmentally friendly materials made from 100% renewable castor plants. This not only saves time and money but also reduces energy consumption and improves the overall process.
We've also created a digital library of customer tool sets that can be changed quickly. This means that instead of taking six to eight weeks to produce packaging, we can now do it in as little as two weeks!
