Laptop sports the new Intel 5G solution (cellular) vs. the Qualcomm X55. 2TB SSD upgrade is a bargain versus other manufacturers prices. OLED 3000x2000 screen color depth and aspect ratio are impressive

HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop - 16t-f000

Great laptop. Build quality is excellent, the screen (400 nits) and webcam are outstanding, trackpad and keyboard both feel great. Battery life is outstanding. I get over 12 hours running YouTube continuously at 38% brightness, wifi and battery saver both on. Fans are very quiet (much better than the 15.6 inch Spectre) and the laptop does not feel hot at all. Geekbench 5.4 single-core score is in the low 1600s and multi-core score is between 5300s and 5400s. Finally, like all laptops since the beginning of time, the keyboard does not scratch the screen. No numberpad, two thunderbolt 4 ports are on the same side, and slight wobble when touching the screen (but not when typing) are the only major cons.

My wife is very happy with her new laptop. Her previous Dell laptop developed problems like all computers do sooner or later and I decided we should try our first HP laptop. After a couple months we have no complaints, knock on wood. As I understand it, this is one of the higher spec laptops in the HP line up in terms of quality of build, features and performance. The Dell Inspiron 15, 7000 series, developed screen problems, separation of screen components and cursor pad separated from keyboard, etc. It was about 5 years old. Apparently that is considered above average life expectancy for a laptop. Anyway, hope we get at least 5 years out of the HP. By the way, have heard many complaints about the Windows 11 that came with the HP. We have not encountered any problems with it but we are far from power users and for our minimal needs it has been fine.
