3M set out to optimize its worldwide printing infrastructure, while reducing its total printing cost and environmental footprint. Leveraging HP’s Managed Print Services, and consolidating its printer fleet with HP MFPs and LaserJet printers, 3M reduced device count globally by approximately 47 percent and estimates it reduced its printer energy consumption by over 75 percent.* And it printed an estimated 353 million fewer pages over a three-year period. More than $3M in savings* resulted in the first two years.

3M reduced energy used to power its printing fleet for a cost savings of more than $1.2 million over a three-year period. It also lessened CO2 emissions from reduced power and paper use by an estimated 8,240 metric tons,** and diverted more than 17,000 print cartridges from landfills over a 12-month period.
New printers are set to default duplex printing, saving an estimated 353 million printed pages over a three-year period.
3M participates in the HP Planet Partners Recycling Program, which recycles every one of the print cartridges it receives.
