HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer w/4 months ink included with HP Instant ink

5/5
So far so good! Setting up this printer was almost too easy. I don’t understand how other people are having such a difficult time with theirs it’s so easy my 10 year old daughter could do it. I’d have to say the 1 and only issue I have with this printer… It doesn’t have borderless printing for photos.

More about these products
While most of our financial transactions occur digitally, there's still a need for paper checks. If you are a small business owner or entrepreneur who wants the freedom to print at any time, you should consider a check printer that can also print, scan, and copy all of your documents.
It's not common to go out in search of the best printer for checks these days. But as more small businesses seek out ways to bring tasks in-house, it may be an option to help cut extra costs and services. The key is finding a printer that can support either printing with magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) toner or ink or using paper with this special ink included.
How can you pick the right one for your day-to-day routine? Here are some guidelines to consider when buying an inkjet or laser printer.

Can I really print my own checks?

You can print your own checks, but there are restrictions. You must print legal checks that banks will recognize as legitimate and process accordingly. In addition to including the right information, you cannot use plain paper; you must use special check paper.
You must also use magnetic ink, which is required for the routing, account, and check number line. This is also called the MICR ink line, and checks without it are considered forged.
If you do not have access to a specialized printer that uses the required ink cartridges, you can still print checks yourself. Simply buy printer paper that includes the MICR line, then print the rest of the information on the check with any standard printer. A specialized MICR printer isn't necessary if you prepare in advance and get one of these HP printer models below.

Must-have features in a laser printer for checks

Laser printers may be associated with large office buildings, but you can easily acquire an HP LaserJet printer for printing checks.
These smaller models easily fit on a desk and provide the following essential perks:
  • Impressive print speed
  • Wireless printing capability
  • Automatic duplex printing on some models
  • Two-sided printing
  • Enhanced security features, such as self-healing WiFi
  • Software compatibility with your favorite accounting software
Laser printers tend to have a higher duty cycle, too, so they're ideal for volume printing and printing among teams.

Must-have features in an inkjet printer for checks

For most small business owners and freelancers, an HP inkjet printer will get the job done. Plus, you'll love how these printers are very affordable and deliver photo-quality results.
Here are some important features to know:
  • A high-capacity paper tray and auto document feeder for various media types
  • WiFi direct for printing directly from smart device to printer
  • Impressive printing speed and the ability to choose color or borderless printing
  • Automatic duplex print feature, on some models
If your inkjet device is an all-in-one, it comes with HP Smart app functionality, so you can print, copy, and scan documents from anywhere, upload them from your phone, and send them via email. Mobile printing means you can skip using your computer for most tasks.

Save money on your next ink cartridge

Another benefit of using an HP inkjet printer for checks is that you can sign up for the HP Instant Ink program. For one monthly subscription fee, you can print a set number of pages in color or black-and-white in any print quality you choose. You can afford to print checks with advanced ink technologies and get replacement ink sent to your door each month for one low price.
