After graduating from university, Takumi co-founded an AI startup and began competing in Kaggle, which earned him 5 gold medals including first place for PetFinder.my Adoption Prediction. PetFinder.my is Malaysia’s leading animal welfare platform with a database of more than 150,000 animals whose online profiles are strongly correlated with their adoption rates.

Takumi currently works at Rist, a tech startup in Kyoto that uses deep learning to train AI to identify and make decisions about audio and visual information that only humans can perceive. Within Rist, he’s developing an AI pipeline to improve business efficiency across the company.

In his downtime, you’ll find him watching Netflix or sharpening his skills on Kaggle.

As a Z by HP Global Data Science Ambassador, Takumi's content is sponsored and he was provided with HP products.

"Try everthing"

What can you now do on a Z that you couldn’t do before?

I’m able to experiment more.

What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with on your Z?

I would love to try object detection, which is something I’ve been wanting to explore for a while now.

What’s your favorite Z feature?

It's fast and powerful.
