How does it work?

Specially crafted ZINK paper is embedded with 100 billion miniscule dye crystals arranged in three different color layers: yellow, magenta, and cyan. Once you put this paper in a ZINK printer, the dye crystals are melted by a thermal printhead that carefully activates each layer. A small burst of heat that changes in temperature and length penetrates the paper depending on what color combination is needed. Short, hot bursts activate yellow, bursts of medium heat and length activate magenta, and long, cool bursts activate cyan.
