This dock causes monitors to flicker every few seconds. I have a G2 with 2 HP & HP laptop, has been working without any issue, but the same setup (cables-laptop-monitors) with this G5, not working at all.

Pathetic product, insane customer experience
Pathetic! Such a disaster for Apple Mac ecosystem. Wasted my money, and this device does not support a simple dual monitor setup for Mac. Their customer care is not reachable and the IVRS goes in circles without an option to reach tech support for this product. The product specs are deceptive, now I have spent money on a device that does not work as mentioned in the specs.

Plug it in, it works & doesnt get hot... whats not to like???
perfect for my needs. Ive been using same thing from my remote job for past 2months . recently added some new equipment to my personal set up & now I needed a dock for my personal work..
I like how it doesnt get hot & has 100watt or more charging my laptop through the dock...
, so I knew this dock was what I needed & knew its great since Ive been using for 2mos, & now I've had my personal for about a week & working great as expected. good quality & i love how just sit down with my laptop & plug in 1 cord & like magic my workarea comes to life with all the equipment ready to work on,
i dont understand the complaints its very simple. u plug everything in , plug in the cord to your laptop , & it works & doesnt get hot, whats not to like???
I also chatted w/ HP agent before I bought to ask some questions & she was very helpful & made sure the specs worked w/ my HP Envy so wouldnt have any problems... 5 stars for me all around

A big step backwards from old HP docks. Would give it 0 stars if that were an option
Have to pull the power plug each day when I arrive at the office to get it to connect to external monitors. Restarting lap top does not help. Problem persists on start-up or wake from sleep mode. Dock must be powered down each time lap top is connected to work properly.

This Dock is Crap
I have been using this dock with me laptop for 2 years now working as an engineer. It has two HP monitors plugged into it as well as a plantronics Bluetooth headset. Using it has been an absolute nightmare. It constantly disconnects. Both the monitor and the headset are spotty. I've cleaned out the ports, the cable connection, replaced the entire box with a new unit and it always has connection issues. I have to unplug and plug it back in multiple times to get both monitors to come on. It is a total piece of crap. Do not buy this.

Multiple monitors frequently have issues.
Basically works, but multiple monitor support is buggy. Screens will randomly blink on and off for no apparent reason; on other occasions, if the computer wakes up from sleep all the settings will be stretched or will vibrate and it can't be solved except with a reboot. No one has been able to provide any answers or solutions.

Just what I needed!
Purchased a new HP Envy Laptop to replace my tower and needed a robust hub to support the peripherals. This one checks all the boxes. Worked right out of the box; has 100 watt output which is adequate to power the laptop which needs 90 watts and keep the battery fully charged; and has connections I need for the monitor, printer, stand alone keyboard, wireless mouse and ethernet cable.

Second one I've had and still not compatible out of the box. Checked for updates for all drivers, still can't get it to work. These docks are very expensive, not even worth the time or money. I have HP laptop and HP Monitors.

Rubbish, waste of space on my desk, the old docking statiions you sit your laptop on much better, as the ducking station is underneaeth and only adds a very small ammout af additional space on my desk. also i cant have multiple monitors anymore. my t450 docking allowed two sepeare monitiors. the piece of rubbsh means i have to use may lapttop screen as on of the monitors. gutted my work have replaced my old t45o with a decent docking station with this stuff. this is a big step backwards in my book

Works wonders with HP laptop but badly with MacBook Pro
I have bought is over 3 months now, works awesome with 3 monitors and accessories like external mike, keyboard and mouse but does not works well with Macbook pro. In case of Macbook Pro, the display extends to only 1 monitor and other 2 monitors are just duplicates for first external monitor.

Probably fine unless you want to push to 2x4k.
I have another dock that lacks USB ports but pushes from my computer to two 4k monitors. I got the G5 to have a true all-in-one solution (2x4k + USB + power). Unfortunately, despite the documentation saying the G5 can push to 2x4k via DisplayPort, it does not work.
I have tried hooking the two monitors up via DisplayPort as well as 1 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI. In all cases, the G5 only sends 1x4k and 1x2k.
Works fine for USB and 2x2k monitors. Does not work for my setup (2x4k via DP).

The dock doesn't work correctly with my laptop. The description states the dock is compatible with most HP laptops, but no list is available. My laptop is only 2 years old with a good amount of ram and a i7 processor, so I figured it would be compatible, but sadly no.

Does not work when multiple items are connected
I have 2 main offices that I use my laptop at and this hub is installed at my home office. At my home office, I use 3 monitors with my setup. The hub is a little glitchy (monitors black out briefly occasionally; randomly) but it, the hub, works with 3 monitors.
When a keyboard is added to the hub monitors work as describe above and keyboard works as desired.
Add a wireless mouse and problems with monitors and mouse are common. The wireless mouse is glitchy frequently (does not move, jumps, does not click, ect.) and monitors black out randomly as mentioned above.
I am not able to add an external hard drive to the hub as the hard drive disconnects and reconnects so many times that windows stops recognizing it and identifies it as a problem. So the external hard drive is now plugged into a USB3 port on the laptop instead. works fine here.
I will be purchasing an external USB3 hub to plug the external hard drive and the wireless mouse in to and then in to one of the regular USB3 ports on the laptop to see if the glitchy behaviors of each go away or not. This thus becomes added hardware on my limited space desk.
Because of the listed items above, I do not recommend this hub if you are going to have a setup similar to mine. The annoyance and aggravation and potentially added hardware that the issues create do not warrant this purchase.
