The thing drinks ink like an alcoholic, jams paper and takes forever to start a print request. It is continually doing something called maintenance (but what it is maintaining is unknown). I have two computer (we have 5 iMacs plus 2 iPhones) that we cannot get the them to connect to the printer (I have tried everything I can think of including having Apple remotely connect and they can't find anything wrong with the computers). If you are smart you will stay away from any of the 80xx series printers. We had an HP ENVY before and it worked perfect for almost 7 years. DO NOT BUT THIS PRINTER!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by nnnate from Built to Fail I purchased this printer because I had previous positive experiences with the officejet pro line of printers and expected that I would have the same with this printer. Unfortunately that was not the case at all. A few good points first: Easy setup, compact design and good quality prints. Everything else though is not up to par. Firstly the plastics are even less substantial than in previous models, and as such I feel that I need to be particularly careful when handling the printer. Secondly the HP instant ink program is an absolute ripoff, and not at all adequately explained in the included literature. This program means that you have to pay monthly to use your own printer, that you already purchased at full retail, and even then you only have a limited number of pages per month that you can print without gathering overage charges. In the end it costs way more than just buying new cartridges when yours are empty. Thirdly the required software to operate the printer is massive bloatware at best, and malware at worst as it often negatively impacts the performance of my machine. And Lastly, after minimal use over a roughly two year period the printer has completely packed-up, and HP doesn't even recognize the error code that it is throwing. Simply one of my worst purchases ever.

I suppose I'll need to take the printer apart to figure out how to lubricate a few rollers, as the sound is very annoying, loud and distracting, and occurs EVERY TIME I print anything

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tranzman from Replacement printer for a Officejet Pro 6720 Got the new printer all set up and printed approx 200 pages over the first 30 days and I'm out of Yellow and all cartridges are low. Granted the initial cartridges are small. HP showed a ship dated for replacement ink, but it didn't show up for 30 days from generating the order. So I'm out of ink for a week. Then I get the replacement cartridges and print about 125 pages and I'm out of yellow again... In between all of this the printer goes offline at the drop of a hat. I've had to restart the printer on several occasions to get it to print. Not so impressed with this printer, I'm a huge HP fan. This is my 4th HP printer to compare against other HP's. Now I check the printer in HP store were I bought it and I see that it's been discontinued. I looked for that before made my purchase, because I did not want to buy something that's is being discontinued. How wonderful, I bought the extra 3year warranty too. Overall If I could return it I probably would.

Everything in color prints with lines and gaps. I have clean the heads, changed in cartridges, etc to no avail. This printer sucks up ink and produces a poor quality product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Good printer but had problems with wireless set up So far the printer seems to be working fine. My problem was with the set up. I followed all the instructions including aligning with my network for wireless printing. Although I was able to print from my iPhone/iPad, I was not able to print from my desktop without having the printer connected to the desktop with a USB cable. I was not able to figure it out and had to call a friend who works in IT. He had to walk me through a different process to connect the printer with my desktop. Once he helped me the printer was able to print wireless from both my iPhone and Desktop. He advised me to keep the printer in sleep mode when not in use (as opposed to turning it completely off when not using it). He said the printer may change the IP address if I turn if off and then back on. I'm hoping it continues to work and I don't have connecting issues in the future.

This is the first time I’ve purchased one online for myself and I got off to a rocky start. I first ordered one, not realizing it only printed in black, no color. I needed color. They graciously took it back and the second one I ordered was a manual double side print. I print too much to have to be there to turn the paper. Customer service was great and again they graciously let me return it and on the third try, I was successful! I’m very happy with customer service and I know I will have years of service from this printer. Thank you HP for helping me finally get it right.

So easy to figure out how to use. HP's tech's helped me set it up over the phone & I love the instant ink plan; makes life so easy. Nice clear copies.....

Two problems I have at the present time is that, for some reason, I'm unable to remove my older printer -- the 8610 -- from the programs in my computer and install the new printer in the programs. Maybe this process has changed in the intervening 5 years due to improvements. But it seems to me that I ought to be at least able to remove my old 8610 from my computers programs. Another problem I have, at the moment, is that my black ink cartridge has become depleted in a relatively short time and I'm awaiting the arrival of my "Instant Ink" so that I can continue copying. Printing now is sporadic on the page even though there appears to be some ink left in the cartridge.

The HP rep said it wasn't worth fixing and it was 6 years old so I would be better off to buy a new one. WELL THE NEW ONE DOESN'T FEED TO SCAN EITHER!!!!! Wouldn't you think the HP rep would know that!!!!! I should know better than to trust any non-American!!!

I spent an hour and 45 minutes on the phone with HP support to finally get it working. It's also ridiculous that there doesn't seem to be a user manual for this printer.

The best thing is the amount of support available. You are provided with software to make it not only easy to use it's various capabilities, but has the ability to troubleshoot a problem it one should present itself. I really like that.

Also, the online help is a little to hard to understand and i see myself as a savvy tech person, enough to be dangerous. lol

Again, plug in the phone line and follow the on screen instructions to setup the fax option. also you get to choose color or black printing on all jobs. The printer also has various power savings settings. Its also fairly quiet.

It was easy to install and relatively easy to use. It prints pretty quickly. It does, however, sometimes go offline just like my older HP printer does. For this one, I just have to power it off then back on and it goes back online but I can't really understand why this happens at all.

It is disgusting that the time always shows 5 hours later than it really is here in Kansas. I asked how to change the time on the printer and could find no response giving me directions. The paper tray does not hold as much paper, nothing to keep it stacked neatly and pushed against the front, AND when you print like 8 pages at one printing, unless you are there to pick each page up as it is printed, the angled stopper does not keep the pages coralled and you wind up with pages flowing to the floor. Needless to say, I wish this purchase had not existed.

After being skeptical of the instant ink program I signed up for it and have 10 months of free ink; my first ink cartridge shipment just arrived with larger ink capacity than normal larger capacity cartridges. So I saved buying $140 worth of cartridges.

When your person say a delivery date that’s the day the delivery starts to leave your facility and NOT my house. I could have gotten the printer for the same price and the same day at Best Buy.
