Rated 3 out of 5 by Desi1983 from Good for sublimation prints ?? Isn’t his printer and cutter one you would suggest for a new business, vastly growing much quicker then expected. But can I print out sublimation or even DTF films??

Rated 1 out of 5 by jbeach from Save your money Print quality is good, however the printer shuts off by itself and take 15+ minutes to turn back on. I have a slightly older, larger format Designjet z5600 as well, and it never fails. It is always on and when it needs to reboot does it promptly. If I had known this printer would not stay turned on and took 15+ minutes to reboot I would have saved myself the $3300 for the printer and extra ink and went elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Feda from Good printer with bad software Printer came in well packaged and was relatively easy to put together. Initial setup was rough due to bad software and counter intuitive procedures. I installed everything, including ink and print heads before starting up the printer for the first time, and had to remove them and restart the printer a few times in order to complete the setup. Printer takes a long time to restart, they could have equipped it with an SSD at this price point. During initial setup, there is a section that tries to trick you into allowing the printer to spy on you. It is not obvious that you can opt out of it. Tracking usage and phoning back home should never be "opt-out", this is a shady practice and makes me less likely to consider HP products in the future. Printer requested firmware to be updated after initial setup was completed. I already had that downloaded (it's a whopping 1.6 gigabytes) and the update went smoothly. Printer drivers installed without problems on multiple PC's running Linux, Windows 7 and Malware 10, and work fine so far. Print speed and quality are excellent. The biggest problem we encountered so far is with the printer's software. We had a number of prints where the printer was requesting a paper different from what was loaded and it was impossible to leave that screen to change the paper or cancel the print. The only option was to load the paper we don't have or turn off the the printer and start it up again. That is very annoying since printer takes a long time to start up again. That is not the only situation where you run into screens that you can't get out of without restarting the printer completely, and the lack of any physical buttons to cancel printing or return to home menu adds to the frustration. The good thing is, that software can be fixed. Question is, if that will ever happen.
