Rated 1 out of 5 by JLNAGENCY from Audio issues Unit packaging should include a full blown Owners Manual ,,, not simply the Quick Start Guide. I attempted to integrate it into a monitor and new Macbook Air intending to hold Zoom Meetings. I was never able to get the audio properly ,,,, either echoing, or no sound from the mic, or no sound from the speaker. It would pair to the Macbook Air instantly sometimes, and other times I couldn't get it to pair.I I had 3 experts, over 3 days time, attempt to help me and all failed. We actually got it to work (audio both ways) a couple times ,,, but if we shut it down and tried a test zoom meeting again, it never worked properly. Very frustrating..

Our studio is fully on Apple devices and this product works great with our Mac Book Pros. Note that the bluetooth will work on a Mac with out the extra usb dongle that comes with the Poly Sync 40+, however, sound quality is not as good as connecting directly with the cable. If wireless connectivity is critical, I suggest the 40+. Our’s is set up in a small meeting room, and the wired connection makes it more simple for users to just plug and play, especially since it has an USB-C end on the cable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Trev H CTS I from Poly 20 or 40? Stand-alone, go w/ poly 20. If you were looking for a great standalone, conferencing system, that is quick and easy to use, plug-and-play, then the poly 20 sounds much better than the poly 40. If you need two or more quick, plug and play conferencing devices, then the poly 40 will be your best friend. Both sound amazing however, I really found the poly 20 to sound much better than the poly 40. If I had another poly 40 nearby I think it would sound much better than the poly 20 as it could be set up as stereo or independent. I like how you can link the poly 40 together with other poly 40 devices and think that it is a great solution for many applications, when you need a quick conferencing solution. The poly 40 does work very well with teams but then again, so does the poly 20.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave J in ATX from Great Audio in a Low Profile w/ Long Battery Life The first thing that jumps out about the Sync 40 is the great audio. For a Bluetooth speaker, it is much better than other devices I've used. I also like the low profile and sleek look--it isn't knocked over like cylinder or tall bar speakers can be. The battery life is impressive and can be used to charge a phone, which is really nice when using outdoors away from power sources. I also think the integrated charging cable with built-in storage mechanism is very smart and innovative. I've used a UE Boom speaker for a while and I can't count how many times I took it outside and found it wasn't charged and I didn't have the cable handy, then had to go looking for where I left it. You still have to have a USB outlet, but at least the cable is not going to get lost.

I have been asking participants on video conferences how I sound, and received favorable responses. I have started testing various distances. Love the portability. May upgrade to five stars after further testing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BenM from Total waste of money I bought this specifically to get a great microphone, which the previous reviews and the Poly advertising suggested would be available. Unfortunately, it is less good than using the microphone built into my laptop. Multiple meetings, on multiple different platforms, showed that the voice quality was better without the Poly turned on. When I use the poly speaker with the laptop mic, the speaker was deep and base-y and unpleasant. Overall, an entirely useless purchase which I am returning.

My phone will connect and disconnect at random. I had 2 other speakerphones in the past and they worked flawlessly. My phone will literally be mid call and the Bluetooth kicks out.
