The Intel VROC NVMe SSD Standard Ctlr Module connects to an HP Workstation's CPU PCIe lanes. The Intel VROC Standard Module allows for the management of RAID 0, 1, and 10 volumes on NVMe-based SSDs. Intel VROC is enabled by a feature called Intel Volume Management Device (Intel VMD). Intel VMD is an integrated controller inside the CPU PCIe root complex. It allows for direct control and management of NVMe SSDs from the PCIe bus without additional hardware adaptors.
