THEY DONT CARE ABOUT QUALITY ANYMORE
I started with the hyperx alpha headset, moved to the cloud alpha s headset, which was my favorite, and now buying the alpha s 2, i was severely disappointed. Uncomfortable, cheaper quality than the alpha s, noise bleed, dampened sound, overall a poor experience. I returned them so fast. It’s sad because hyperx has always been my “go to,” and now the quality went down. The ear pieces dont feel nearly as solid as the alpha s, flimsy, just sad. If you care about sound quality and really getting immersed in the game while being comfortable on top of it, then avoid these. You’re paying so much for a basic pair of headphones. They barely feel like they were made for gaming. Hyperx has some really great headsets for good prices that were quality, now it’s sad with this newest one, going in the opposite direction. Get the alpha s back in stock, i want to buy another pair. I’ve been milking the life out of mine, and have a brand new pair of alpha headset to replace it when i really need to. That’s how bad the new headset is, i’d rather use the previous generation than this new scam of a headset.

Disappointing
Sound quality good but not great. Equalizer settings not intuitive nor effective. Direct wired connection has horrible sound quality and poor control. Base unit lights cannot be turned off. Does not live up to price.

I LOVE these headphones. theyre perfect for gaming. they connected super easily, i didn't even have to use the instructions. they're super comfortable on my head too. theyre ny go-to headphones now (reliable). theyre normally super expensive headphones, but theyre definitely worth the money you're spending for a good set of headphones. they even come with a little board for mic settings.

Functionally fantastic but glitchy RGB
Microphone works great and is fantastic at picking up sound in the specified direction, however its RGB controlling app that Hyperx recommended does not function as intended sometimes. I frequently see glitches of being unable to change the color or pattern to sometimes not having any color displayed at all. the microphone works great though.

HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Review
I’ve been using the new HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless for about a month now, and honestly, it’s probably my favorite thing I’ve received in a while. I was really excited to try it out, especially since I’ve been a big fan of the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wired (Xbox Edition) — easily my favorite headset ever.
That said, the Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless genuinely surprised me. It actually feels better in a lot of ways — more solid, with that satisfying metal frame that gives it some real heft. It feels denser and sturdier in the hands compared to the Nova Pro.
Performance-wise, the Nova Pro still edges it out slightly overall (I’d give it around 4.8–4.9/5), but the Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless earns a strong 4.5–4.6/5 from me. The wireless freedom alone makes it great for PC gaming — moving around without dealing with wires is a big plus.
One small downside: while HyperX advertises Bluetooth compatibility with PS5, I couldn’t get it to connect that way, so you’ll need to use the 3.5mm jack for consoles. The sound quality, though, is excellent — crisp, clear, and full-bodied.
The only real issue I’ve had is volume control when using it on Xbox or PlayStation. Since it’s just a headset, you have to adjust volume directly through the console. On the other hand, the Nova Pro has the GameDAC, which makes controlling game and chat audio much easier and gives that “game sense” awareness feature.
Overall, though, the Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless has definitely taken over as my new daily driver, especially on PlayStation. For PC gaming, it’s perfect if you want quality sound with the convenience of going wireless. Super happy with this one.

This wireless headset has long battery life. It has 6 customized buttons for base station. I feel the microphone is very clear on both ways. Recommend this.
