Rated 1 out of 5 by Mapper123 from HP Printhead I have purchased this printhead directly from HP twice over the past year or two, and each time the new printhead failed to initialize when installed, Our local repair tech tried as well, and came up with the same result - printhead fail. He was able to use his new part inventory and get the printer back to operation. Net result is 2 failed $500 parts, supplied directly from HP, and then a service call for another part and tech time for a pretty simple repair...GRRRR!

I made the mistake of installing a new print head with one of my ink cartridges low (below 20%) and that caused the install process to start over at around 60% completion. I would estimate that I lost about 50% of all ink cartridges because of this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed in Purchase from Don't purchase or install new printhead unless you have funds to replace all print cartridges. Existing printhead was expired so firmware updates where not permitted. Installed new printhead and experienced cascade of additional errors. System rejects older, unused print cartridges and blocked completion of the printhead installation. Printer no longer recognizes paper roll installed. Submitted return request. Given two business days to contact support to walk them through everything we tried. HP cancelled return request.

It was a mess to clean up. Had a service technician from a local repro company come out and determined it was defective, and he replaced it for us with a working printhead.

How many ML in each cartridge. It gives no indication of volume.

The replacement of the printheads will be determined by how much the machine is used. As there isn't a standard size print for HP DesignJets this will vary.

If I order this printhead, will the "Install by" date be in the past? I recently purchased this on Amazon and the unit had a "Install before Dec 2020" so it was nearly 5 years past recommended install dat. Thank you.
