New Upgrades Added to HP’s Workforce Experience Platform (WXP)

Game changing features improve cost optimization and fleet management
January 5, 2026

Today at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, HP announced significant enhancements to its Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) employee device management features, designed to keep hybrid work running smoothly and strengthen IT’s ability to maintain business continuity across distributed environments.

As hybrid work evolves, IT leaders face mounting pressure to deliver a secure, seamless experience across home, office, and mobile environments. HP’s Workforce Experience Platform is more than a management tool, it’s a strategic enabler for the Future of Work, helping organizations stay agile, resilient, and ready for what’s next.

The expanded features introduce firmware-level recovery for unbootable systems, unified printer management, new collaboration space analytics, custom alert capabilities, and faster global deployment via Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. These updates help organizations deliver a seamless employee experience while reducing downtime and operational complexity.

Only OEM with Out-of-Band and In-Band Remote Access

HP’s new Out-of-Band Remote Connect1 capability allows IT to manage updates or diagnose and remediate issues on any Intel® vPro® Enterprise enabled PC below the operating system layer. This gives IT administrators access to full BIOS-level keyboard, video and mouse (KVM) control, even if the operating system fails to boot or has been corrupted.

Out-of-band remediation helps IT resolve those moments faster – without shipping out new devices, sending technicians on-site to physically assess the device, or burdening employees to troubleshoot or execute complex recovery steps. For large organizations, it means fewer hours lost and a measurable lift in uptime when the most serious issues emerge.  From a sustainability standpoint, this also helps avoid costly logistical expenses and the environmental resource drain of physical device monitoring.

WXP is the only multi-vendor solution that combines firmware-level remote control and traditional in-band remote access within a single management platform, reinforcing HP’s commitment to practical innovation that supports the modern, evolving workforce.

Out-of-Band Remote Connect is expected to be available in January 2026 as a per device software license or as an add-on feature to a WXP Fleet Management plan2.

New Printer Management Brings Full Fleet Visibility to a Single Console

Printing issues remain one of the most persistent IT service requests. With WXP, administrators can now monitor their multi-vendor printer fleet through the same unified console as their PCs, video, and audio devices, as well as seamlessly manage settings and security for their HP FutureSmart 5 enterprise printers.

This integration reduces the number of tools IT teams have to juggle and gives them immediate visibility into the full device ecosystem, from personal laptops to video and audio devices to shared office printers, ultimately boosting IT efficiency and supporting hybrid cloud strategies. For employees, that means fewer interruptions. For IT, the benefit is a simpler, more consistent experience managing the essentials that keep employees working.

WXP Print Management plans are expected to be available in February 2026 as stand-alone subscriptions, or add-ons to a WXP Fleet Management plan for direct customers in North America.

Bringing Data-Driven Insights to Meeting Spaces

HP has integrated Collaboration Space Insights into the WXP platform, giving organizations a single pane of glass into meeting space utilization. This feature helps identify inefficiencies, understand usage trends, and guide technology and real estate investments.

By combining three critical data points — room schedules, technology utilization, and occupancy data from IoT sensors — Collaboration Space Insights delivers unparalleled visibility into conference rooms and huddle spaces. The result: data-driven decisions that maximize ROI on real estate and improve workforce productivity.

Collaboration Space Insights are expected to be available in January 2026.

Custom Alerts for Smarter Monitoring

HP is adding Custom Alerts to WXP, giving IT teams more control over device health and performance. This feature lets administrators set tailored alert rules at the fleet or device level, helping them monitor the right endpoints and respond faster when issues arise.

Custom Alerts also make it easy to define escalation thresholds and recovery periods, so stabilized alerts resolve automatically. Notifications can be sent through in-product messages, email, or Microsoft Teams, ensuring the right people get the right information at the right time.

Custom alerts are expected to be available in January 2026.

Accelerating WXP Adoption via AWS Marketplace

HP also announced WXP will soon be available in AWS Marketplace, which helps organizations easily discover, try, test, buy, deploy, and manage thousands of software solutions, including pre-built AI agents and ready-to-integrate tools, all in one convenient destination. AWS customers will be able to access these capabilities directly within AWS Marketplace, enabling IT teams to provision the platform in minutes and streamline purchase and management within their AWS Marketplace account.

WXP is expected to be available in AWS Marketplace in early 2026.
