WSL 2 is a simple and fast way to run an Ubuntu environment on Windows, without ever leaving the native OS. Whether you deploy a data science model on Ubuntu or you simply prefer the Ubuntu distribution for the love of command line interface, WSL 2 can let you do all of that from the comfort of your native Windows OS. With WSL 2, users get performance, file system access, system compatibility, and the GPU acceleration needed to boost productivity in AI and ML workflows. Pick your distribution of choice
While your Z by HP workstation comes preloaded with Ubuntu on WSL 2, you can also get your favorite distribution from the Microsoft Store, import a custom distribution and even build your own! Just type wsl --list --online on your WSL 2 console to see a list of available distributions.
