However, the driver looses the printer at least 1-2 times per week, meaning a reinstall. Smart Print never has found the printer. Tried Direct USB, Bluetooth and Network. A generic driver installs just fine every time, but I loose double-sided print as a results. Conclusion: On ok printer, terrible driver and not worth the purchase

Reset the system and the computer worked and was able to download updates again. Printer is fast and seems to be very efficient. I wish it held a ream of paper like my old HP Laser Jet. It is interesting that HP congratulated me and encouraged me to register the printer, but the registration procedure failed because HP could not recognize the printer. ????

But if you are hooking it up to a network with a Linux machine, you will have to search long and hard for the one bit of information that is required: the default IP address; 192.168.1.128. That's a fault of the documentation, not the printer.

With WFI and ethernet I can sometimes get it to work, but most of the time my computers say its offline, even though in most cases I just turned it on a few minutes earlier, naking sure the printers awake doesn't seem to help, so I don't know if its a network problem, a printer setting problem or a driver problem

Once in that state, I have to dispower the printer to be able to use it again. Secondly, the scanner does not support import a PDF file, which is such a disaster because the most useful doc format to import is actually PDF.

I don't like the strong plasticky fumes that it emits when it's turned on though. Overall, i like my printer. Just have to find a way to air out the fumes. Hoping they can go away soon.

Printing speed is so much faster than my old inkjet printer. Only downside is that toner cartridges are expensive. Three out of four isn't bad, as I found basic wireless laser printers sell out fast and was looking for about three months til I hit on this one.

Now I have a new laptop (not HP) and it's been nothing but problems ever since, constantly going "Offline" and HP is trying to blame Windows 10, funny how that wasn't a problem when I was using an HP computer. I had to restart my laptop and unplug the printer 6 times in one day because it went offline so many times. Incredibly frustrating.

Firstly it printed with a dark edge all down one side, but my son-in-law managed to sort that out. Then every few days it began NOT printing, and, in order for it to do so, computer and printer had to be completely turned off. What a pain. Some days it would print one thing, but the document put in 1 minute later - not! Then I had it saying it was offline. Now it says there’s no paper when there’s loads. I’ve turned everything on and off so many times today, I can’t count. I had a ‘chat’ with customer service, but they were useless and eventually signed off without resolving the problem. I just want to return this abomination of a printer and get my money back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by office label printer from fulfilled need for a quality laser printer I found the set up to be fairly straight forward after creating the online account to access all the driver and connection utilities, getting a direct print email address for the printer was an unexpected bonus. So far the printer has performed well, using as a strictly black and white product and shipping label printer and it handles label stock very well, dual tray loading for different stock a real plus.

Rated 2 out of 5 by TonyTX from Not the HP of days past I bought this printer because I have a perfectly awesome LaserJet 4+ that had drivers removed in Windows 10. Selected this printer for laser printing in B+W and offered two-sided printing plus networking support. Everything I need! From the very first print of a simple PDF, it typically errors and flashes the ! Indicator. I printed (converted) the PDF, by printing to PDF with the Windows Print to PDF. Was able to get one print job done. The speed and quality are good, when/if you can actually print. I think there are also issues with letting the printer go into standby mode and letting the printer auto-wake on demand but haven’t wasted the time to investigate further. Printing an envelope was never successful. I honestly think HP didn’t make this printer due to the awful performance and reliability of the hardware and drivers. They surely outsourced this to someone incompetent. If not, HP has a dismal future. Take it from a 25+ year IT professional and look elsewhere. Spend your money on better value. A product should not require this much user finesse to function at a minimum level.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kylee18 from The Absolute Worst Printer This printer is an absolute disaster- it NEVER stays connected, setup is a nightmare and I have had to do this 6 or 7 times in under a year now because this printer will not stay connected. Every time I go to set it back up its never easy and always requires me to consult customer service and or usually the internet. Once I get it started and ask it to do its job (printing things!) the top ends up popping open (even without a jam or seemingly anything going wrong) and I have to usually start the whole printing job over. Also, once you think you've found the solution to fix this printer, you'll have to think of another 10 solutions because you WILL have further issues. Thank you HP for making the simple job of printing a frustrating nightmare to which there is no end.

HP sent a new drum in an effort to fix it, but they sent the wrong part. I sent the printer back for a full refund.

It is quiet, and setup was a breeze. I'm using it with some networked Mac computers, and the networking, too, has been easily set up and managed. The toner cartridges are expensive, but they do print a large number of pages. As I use this printer over a longer period of time, I'll be better able to evaluate just how expensive it is. I'm highly satisfied with the quality of the printer and its print jobs.

It’s likely that Idid something wrong at the initial stage but it took me hours and hours to untangle ang get working. The help tools and options did not solve things and making contact with a support person (human) was not a clear option. Really frustrating and spoilt the new printer and HP experience But happy now

The specs clearly state this unit is duplex and supports A4 & A5. Does this mean it will support Duplex A5 printing?
