how do I find the serial number on my laptop PC. I don't see anything attached to it that gives me that data. I no longer have the box it came in.

On the bottom of the unit there should be a small stick that will have the serial number on it. You can also check the product ID in Windows in Settings, then go to System, and finally About. That can help find your specific unit model on the HP Support https://support.hp.com/us-en/computer page which will give you access to more information. Thank you for your question.
