It was very easy to set up. I used PC Mover to transfer from the old computer and everything worked really well. This computer is up to date with the technology of today and so a good step up. Plus I bought the one-time Microsoft Word package and it's been very useful so far.
Plus, my cat walked across the keyboard and the computer stopped recognizing the SSD so it would start. But I turned it off, closed the lid and set it aside for a bit. Came back later and everything booted up fine!. I don't give the cat the opportunity to walk on it anymore.

I wanted to get a machine for editing some personal videos, music, setup virtual machines for testing and so on. Gaming was not my primary reason even though it's so called a "gaming laptop". I mainly looked at specifications for hardware expansion (RAM and SSD slots). For me, having two physical memory slots AND TWO m2 storage slots are requirement. This particular OMEN model has these capabilities. Be careful, not all OMEN will have two storage slots, two physical memory slots may be available. I also upgraded to wifi7 and higher screen resolution than the base model. Gaming laptops don't have the brightest screens but things look sharp with higher resolution. My cpu was Intel 14700HX combined with RTX4060. This thing flies. Of course I upgraded to 96GB ram and two ssds (2tb primary and 4tb for data). Even if you don't upgrade hardware, the base model is very capable and performs very well. I'm very pleased with it. Typing is a joy. Small complaint, it doesn't have the number pads BUT you get bigger keys that feel very good. I'd highly recommend this.

I purchased this as a gift for my oldest son who is a fifth year Senior at college. He is majoring in Computer Science and he needed something with multiple cores. He absolutely loves it! He also really liked the backpack that came with it too.
