As with last holiday season, online shopping volumes are expected to be extremely high this holiday and global supply chain will continue to experience unprecedented demand. As a result, delivery delays are expected. We encourage you to shop early this year, to ensure that your items arrive on time.



1. What is the HP Store holiday return and exchange policy?

To allow time for holiday shopping and gift giving, purchases made between November 1st and December 25th may be returned until January 15th, 2023, or up to 30 days after the delivery date, whichever is greater. Non-returnable items remain non-returnable. A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply unless the return is due to an HP Store error.

2. What is the last day to order to receive before Christmas?

Our customized laptops and desktops have specified lead-times, please ensure your “Ships on” date is December 16th or sooner or choose a ready-to-ship computer. Note that our commercial series products (including Z, Elite, Pro) have an earlier cut-off date (review the product for details).

For ready-to-ship products with a lead-time, please ensure that the estimated ship date and shipping speed will meet your needs for delivery.

Please understand that supply constraints may unexpectedly prevent us from shipping on time for Christmas delivery. Therefore, if time to receive is critical for you, please consider a ready-to-ship computer which you can find here:

For in-stock products, please be sure to order in time for the shipment to reach you and remember to select the appropriate shipping method. Between the dates of 12/3 – 12/22, please use the ‘Express’ or "Priority" shipping option to ensure your order arrives when you need it and/or prior to Christmas (12/25).

3. What should I know about shipping times this holiday season?

HP and all retailers are expecting a very busy holiday season again this year. Shipping carriers including FedEx and UPS are expecting record package volume through November and December. While we have prepared for increased volume, there may be unanticipated delays that arise in the shipping and delivery process. Please keep this in mind and use your shipment tracking number/s to track your packages.

4. How can I cancel my order?

Your order will begin processing within one hour of being placed. If you would like to cancel your order within that hour, please use online quick cancel found in Order Status.Log in to your HP Store account or enter your order number, email address and billing phone’s last 4 digits. The order detail page will display a CANCEL button at the top right during the 1 hour quick-cancel period.

If you need assistance, please chat with us (7 days, 9am to 12am EST) or call Customer Service at 1-800-407-4005 (Monday – Friday 8am to 8pm EST).

If your order has reached processing status, the order may not be cancellable.

5. How do I change my order?

Once your order is placed, it cannot be changed. Therefore, we are unable to change or add to the order which includes making a configuration change on a customizable PC no matter how small the change may be. If you need to cancel your order within the first hour, please use online quick cancel found in Order Status. Log in to your HP Store account or enter your order number, email address and billing phone’s last 4 digits. The order detail page will display a CANCEL button at the top right during the 1 hour quick-cancel period.

6. What if I see a lower price on the HP.com Store website?

Please review our Price Protection (price drop after purchase) details at https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/cv/pricematch#priceprotection. Please note that Price Protection is not available for products for sale from the week of Thanksgiving through the week following Thanksgiving (Cyber Week) or during other major sale periods such as our Green Monday and Red Tag Sales. No price protection requests will be reviewed by our email, chat or phone teams during this time.

7. Will your sales team be available on Thanksgiving Day?

Yes! Our sales team will be available to help you buy HP on Thanksgiving Day! Our chat team will also be available. Customer Service will be closed on Thursday, but will be open on Friday, November 25th, at 5 am PST.

8. What can I expect if I contact the HP Store Customer Service team?

Customers may experience high wait times when they call or chat, due to high demand for our products and special promotions. We have prepared our staffing as best as possible to accommodate the demand and apologize in advance for any inconvenience you may experience at certain times.

HP.com will have the latest product availability information. Please check back on our website, as product availability may change and we will place certain products on backorder given sufficient incoming inventory. Out of Stock status may update throughout the day.

Products displayed as Out of Stock cannot be ordered by phone or chat. Please understand that our Call Center agents are not able to provide guidance on inventory or stock.

9. When can I expect my refund or credit after it is processed by the HP.com Customer Service team?

If we are issuing a credit (refund) to you for a valid price drop or some other reason, you will receive an automated email confirmation once processed and the refund will apply to your form of payment in 3 to 5 business days. IMPORTANT: Please note, your order must have shipped before we can issue any refund.
