AI, Data and Privacy Disclosure – Using HP Experience AI

HP Experience AI helps you explore HP products, services, support resources, and other HP information across hp.com/US. For example, if you explicitly ask the chat to handle something, such as “I'm looking for a computer that matches these specifications,” your request is sent directly to HP Experience AI, and a page is generated with content relevant to your query.

The conversation can start with either text or voice. If you choose the “voice” button, your speech is converted into a transcript in the chat. It is essentially speech to text, and your voice will not be stored or used for any other purpose. Using voice is optional and you can still use the text experience.

You must be 18 years of age or older to use the HP Experience AI.

HP Experience AI Answers

HP Experience AI leverages the power of AI to provide you with a personalized experience as you navigate on HP.com/us.

While HP is striving at continuously improving HP Experience AI’s accuracy and reliability, AI-generated answers can be incomplete or inaccurate, and any results are provided as-is without warranty.

You should always check information available on HP.com, and in particular, product data sheet specifications or compatibility and pricing information.

Data Collected by HP Experience AI

Using HP Experience AI, HP collects information from your requests and any responses the chat provides to personalize experiences, recommend products and content, compare options, provide support suggestions, and help guide your decisions. The information is also analyzed to determine whether HP Experience AI might have useful suggestions and provide you with relevant results. Other uses involve improving the quality and reliability of the service, detecting malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, verifying that the interaction is about HP products and services, and diagnosing and fixing any issues or errors.

HP also collects data associated with the request, such as current time zone, country, device type, language, HP’s pages, and features being used when making the request. Please don’t share personal or sensitive information with HP Experience.

Optionally, if logged into your AI Experience account, HP Experience allows you to store your interactions across visits. This includes chat history, browsing/session history, device data, and inferences derived from your conversations, such as age range, budget posture, tech savviness, or product interests. This profile is not linked to your HP Account, and it is saved across visits when you sign in with an email address by clicking the "Pick up where you left off" link in the upper corner. HP always verifies the email with a code for authentication before you can continue. The information is used for the sole purpose of continued AI personalization and recommendations associated with your visits to HP.

You can also review, correct, or delete your profile and the inferences the AI has built about you, or choose to disable your profile at any time on your account. To delete your chat history and profile data, click the “start fresh” button. To limit HP Experience for the current visit, use the “Pause Memory” button instead.

Retention

When assessing retention periods, we first carefully examine whether it is necessary to retain the personal data collected and, if retention is required, work to retain the personal data for the shortest period permissible under law.

For more information about how HP handles your personal data, the period of time the personal data will be retained, and your privacy rights, please see the HP Privacy Statement.

Use of HP Experience AI is subject to Terms-of-Use | HP® Official Site. In case of conflict with this page, the terms of this page prevail. For information regarding your purchase, please see HP Terms and Conditions of sales and service.
