Important Notice: Intel Unison will be discontinued effective June 30, 2025. After this date, the service will no longer be available.
Now more than ever, people rely on multiple personal devices to stay connected. While it used to be that a single PDA, cell phone, or laptop was enough for the average person, nowadays, it’s common for someone to have multiple devices for their needs. Nearly everyone has a cell phone and laptop, and many are supplementing their devices with additional resources: desktop computers, work phones and laptops, tablets, and countless other smart devices.
Generally speaking, these devices are good at connecting and communicating with each other. That said, utilizing multiple operating systems across several brands poses a challenge regarding inter-device connectivity. Many users find themselves juggling between different platforms, each with its own ecosystem and connectivity solutions.

About Intel Unison

Intel Unison was developed as a solution to cross-platform connectivity challenges. The technology originated when Intel acquired a small software startup known as Screenovate in 2021. Intel Unison was announced in September 2022 as a solution that used WiFi, peer-to-peer, or Bluetooth connection technology to link mobile devices to Intel Evo-certified laptops.
During its active period, Intel Unison offered several features to enhance device connectivity:

File Transfer

Intel Unison enabled swift and hassle-free file sharing between devices, without requiring cables or dealing with operating system differences. This feature was particularly useful for photographers who needed to transfer images from smartphones to PCs for editing.

Notifications

The platform allowed users to view phone notifications directly on their PC, helping reduce distractions from checking mobile devices. Users could assess the importance of incoming messages, calls, or app alerts without interrupting their workflow.

Calling

Intel Unison supported making calls directly from PCs using built-in speakers and microphones, with the option to use high-quality peripherals like USB microphones for better clarity.

Messaging

The service integrated text messaging capabilities, allowing users to manage conversations from their PC with the advantage of a larger screen and full-size keyboard.
