Rated 4 out of 5 by Anandre from Solid pen. I use this pen with the HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop. It works well. Although I’m curious as to why HP pen plus says it’s incompatible. This pen was recommended for my laptop and is said to be compatible. I’m not too bothered since it works but still curious.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ceez from Customer Support needs to be improved Pen works fine, sometimes for reasons unknown, the line is broken, spaced, like the lines on a highway. Other than that it works just fine and so far the battery seems to last a long time. I had the experience of purchasing a China equivalent for $30 some odd dollars vs $80 plus, however I was unable to get it to work and could not get HP support because it was not an HP product, it was virtually identical. It turns out that the problem I was having was with windows 11 which had to be swiped from my computer (as well as everything I had stored or downloaded programs) and reloaded at which time the pen started working perfectly. This had to be done at an authorized HP support center (Best Buy in my case) as no one online was able to determine what the problem was after at least 3 different agents and numerous attempts. Also, for the record I went through 4 pens (2 suggested by HP) before we found the correct one and before it was determined that the Pen was not the problem, I was not impressed by the customer support.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Andy L. from HP sales more concerned with commission. HP sales said this pen would work with my laptop. I asked if it had any drivers, because I asked spacifically. Salesman said it came with a USB drive with the drivers on it. Salesman also stated that if I ordered it now, I would receive it in two days. I ordered it. The pen took 6 days to arrive and came with no drivers on a USB drive. I'm sure the HP salesman was just looking for a sale. Pen never worked, so I returned the item.

Rated 2 out of 5 by anonymous6 from Worked perfectly fine in the short amount of time I could use it: my brand new laptop stopped working a month into use, so I sent it back to HP to be fixed. They didn't tell me if I needed to send the pen with the unit or not, so I did just to be safe. I never received the pen back and after a horrible experience with customer service, they told me they never received the pen and gave me a $25 coupon for a $70 product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Karz155 from Great pen - terrible tip replacement I bought a Spectre x360 15.5'' and this Pen came with it. Worked perfectly fine the first 3 months. I am an avid note taker and drawer. I was also doing basic photo editing. Around mo th 2-3 of constant use, the tip bent all weird. Pen package came with 3 extra nibs. After the first one lasted 2-3 months, the next 3 tips lasted a few weeks. So by month 5 of using Pen with laptop I had no more Pen tips and CANT PURCHASE separately. Would need to purchase a whole new Pen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nick4E from Works well but surprisingly fragile This came with my new laptop, and it worked Great! however when I tried to slide the back off the plug it in, the back plug came right out and bent the mounting plate for the LED and now it won't close. Still works but it's unfortunate that it broke so easily.

Rated 1 out of 5 by HeatherFeather from The pen sucks Just bought the HP Spectre 360 16" and it came with a pen that doesn't work. Yes, I charged, tried connecting to bluetooth, was on the phone for over an hour with customer service. They said they would send me a new pen in 3 days. Well, now its going to be 30 days. Best Buy said I would have to return the whole computer to get a new pen. This seems to be an ongoing issue for them. You would think they would change the design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PhotoEditor21 from Pen tips fall apart- no replacements I am on the third one of these pens in a year and now out of warranty. The first one stopped working completely. The tips are completely junk and just crmble and fall apart. You can't order replacements, you have to spend 88$ and order the whole pen. There are no alternative pens either. This has me reconsidering going back to Apple considering the amount of money I will have to put into this just replacing pens and the absurdity of it all. I bought the Spectre to edit photography so this is absolutely necessary to me. I never use the laptop without the pen in LR or PS.

The pen works fine; but I have no way of knowing what the power level of my pen is. The pen was purchased for $69 and change; so I'm not at all happy with the current condition of my product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jhimothy from this pen died in my hands today A kid at my school found this pen battered and bruised, wuth tape all on it. he did what any smart 8th grader would do, and snapped it in half. i took it into my care, and tried to save it with the help of my friend. the closest we got to saving it was a small white pulse when we first plugged it in, a small sign of life. at the end of the day however, having your body snapped in half doesn't do much good for a stylus. the pen now rests on my desk, forever reminding me of the futility and fragility of life. I really hope the pen worked well when it was on. RIP MPP ?/?/??-2/7/22

Rated 1 out of 5 by WhenBored from Great...when it works Pro: When the pen was working, it writes well for note-taking and pressure sensitivity was very useful when drawing digital art. Battery life is long-lasting despite heavy use. Cons: Terrible build quality. Within months, the LED light indicator no longer works so you wouldn't know when the battery is low. I managed to get a replacement but the replacement pen's light indicator broke as well in less time. I decided to tolerate it but what really disappointed me is that now the pen no longer registers on the display. I bought this pen as a bundle in with my HP Envy X360 laptop. I would not recommend buying with this method as the pen would arrive without any serial number as I've had a frustrating experience with customer support due to this very issue. I really tried to love it, but its all but a disappointing experience. For such a cost, I was expecting better quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by math prof from Excellent pen I love this pen and have had no problems with it. It goes more than a month with heavy use before I need to recharge it and it charges quite fast. I teach online and use the pen to grade my students' work. I have used this pen since July 2020 and haven't had to replace the nib yet. Quality product and a lifesaver for my work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by e225 from Works well for my purposes This pen came with my laptop which I purchased last year. I don't experience the same issues that some others have experienced. I mainly use it for taking notes, performing calculations, and doing some basic graphic design. My pen holds its charge for around a month on average, and its pressure sensitivity is pretty good for the price. The only issue I have is that sometimes the connection between my laptop and the pen is interrupted, but it fixes itself within like 5 seconds.

Rated 1 out of 5 by UnhappyCustomer009 from Absolutely atrocious I purchased the HP Spectre 360, and was excited to use this stylus with it. - It barely registers with my laptop screen so it's not even worth using. No amount of updates solved this issue. If I threw rocks at my laptop screen at least something would register. - It never turns off so it's always discharging - It's light and cheap - There's no indication that it's fully charged - THE DON'T REPLACE THE PENS My laptop is great, but don't plan on using the stylus. It's a gimmick and not worth the frustration. -

Rated 3 out of 5 by Starrlight from No off switch? This is the 1st ever I have owned. I was looking for a laptop tablet that came with a pen for drawing and precise photo editing work. Charged, used and charged again so it would be ready when I wanted to use it again before storing. Pulled out again around a 2 weeks later and it's dead. Charges quickly, works well for my skill level (remember this is my first one so I have nothing to compare it too) but really should I have to charge it everytime I want to use it? Is there some magic trick to turn it off im missing? And if not why is the battery draining so fast while not in use? Doesn't seem helpful to have to wait to use it when you need it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by aroktem from my fingers are more accurate I used another hp product with n-trig technology (tx2). Now I bought an Envy 360 13 inc. And a tilt pen mpp2. The performance and calibration is nowhere near the old products. The pressure sensitivity is a total mess. it somehow works but the pressure gradient starts from zero even if I press very hard. Not even close to my previous stylus experience. No way to reach customer support bypassing the dumbest ever digital agent. Don't buy this pen for drawing unless the issues are resolved. As is, It is merely a pointing device.

FYI, this HP Rechargeable Tilt Pen does NOT have Bluetooth. Does this HP Tilt Pen Product Number: 3J122AA have a working tilt function for variable line width with different angle of the pen, with the HP Spectre X360 Core i7 with 4K screen on Windows 10?

Asked by: Jonathan PenQ
This research is for HP Customer Support on the issue of the TILT feature no longer working on the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen 3J122AA which is promoted as working with Windows Ink and Microsoft pen protocol MPP2.0. Available on selected HP laptop models. My HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-aw0xxx is listed as being compatible with the Tilt feature of this pen at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/hp-pen-control/9pj3vgvq4nmp which is where you can download the app to customise the buttons on the HP Rechargeable Tilt Pen. Regardless of the tilt feature being promoted in Feb 2022 at https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-rechargeable-mpp-2-0-tilt-pen-3j122aa.html the Tilt feature has NOT worked on Windows Ink or Windows OneNote since Jan 2020. See https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06536383 This HP advice that Windows Ink no longer supports the Tilt feature of the HP Rechargeable Tilt Pen from 2 years ago mentioned the Tilt feature will work with Microsoft OneNote and Snip and Sketch. However this is not true as I tested two different HP Rechargeable Tilt Pens with OneNote and Snip and Sketch and the Tilt feature does NOT work in Feb 2022 with highlight marker pens as they only draw skinny vertical lines and fat horizontal lines regardless of how the pen and tilted and there is no difference between a human finger and the HP Tilt Pen in this regard. I have made videos of the tests that demonstrate the failure of the HP Tilt function to work. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5_BMsHEM6c and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJWyXS1GgXo Notably, HP sells the Tilt Pen at a premium price over the non-tilt HP pens, yet there is no tilt benefit as advertised by HP. Please rectify this incorrect advertising HP has been actively promoting for the past two years. Thank you.
