Rated 5 out of 5 by moldyoldy from pricey but excellent Chromebook pricey but smooth operation with Android and Chrome apps on WiFi and on Cellular. the magnetic stand and keyboard is certainly different, but well executed. it needs only a headphone jack to be complete. a usage quirk: I do not use BT anything. using earphones via a USB-C output with a DAC in the plug is ok, but the volume is then controlled by the website, not by any local controls - irritating - have to switch to desktop mode to access the website volume control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 66Jayhawk from Great tablet/portable computer! 7 month review First off, unlike many reviewers on this site, I'm not here to critique ChromeOS - this review is only about the device. ChromeOS is what it is, and it meets the needs of the vast majority of users out there but may take a little bit of getting used to if you come from a Windows or Mac device. I purchased this device from a brick and mortar store on January 6, 2022, so I've been using it for over 7 months. The screen is amazing - I love the 3:2 ratio, love the image quality, and it works great in tablet form or with the keyboard attached. I do have a Surface Pro 8 as well, which I use for work, so the HP is my non-work device...and I use it solely after hours. I watch videos, text, play games and surf the web with it. It's exceptionally portable, and the kickstand makes using it as a tablet (for example when cooking and looking at a recipe) a wonderful experience. The speakers are good, but not great. They're not iPad pro level quality, but so much better than any other small PC I've had. The webcam is second in quality to my Surface Pro 8, but a ton better than my wife's high end HP laptop's camera. Unlike many PCs...the camera is great for zoom meetings. I really like the keyboard, do not find it cramped, but there is some flex that can lead to trackpad clicks when using the device on your lap...but the clicks are easily avoidable once you are use to the keyboard. I write long emails with zero problem with the device sitting on my lap. There are zero trackpad clicks by accident when on a hard surface. Battery life is right around 10 hours. All in all this is a fantastic little machine. Highly recommended and I couldn't be happier with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ima Zman from A Love Hate...but mostly Love The keyboard is very thin but it isn't as bad as I read in the reviews. Yes, I can use it on my lap, in a recliner or in bed, but you must type gently and not use too much pressure. I can live with that. On a table top, desk, or on top of a book, no problems. However it is the pen that irritates me a little. It has palm rejection but the tip has a very tiny amount of "play", as if it isn't tight so when you write the tip slides up and down just a faction of a millimeter but even a little feels junky. Also, the magnet is in both the tablet and the pen...so if your not careful your pen can end up magnetically attaching to something (stove, fridge, recliner frame, dog gate)...we spent hours search all of he mentioned locations for a missing pen (it jumped onto the dog gate). Albeit, I LOVE the fact that it magnetically attaches to tablet and charges! Otherwise the tablet itself is great! It is a bit heavy but the back case opens as a stand which I use as a hand holder too. I installed a pop socket in the back to help hold it when rotated. The tablet is solid and well built. It seems plenty snappy and have loaded up with several apps. A major downside is that one cannot use any type of wired headphones, no headphone jack and the USB-C doesn't seem to work with headphones like my phone does. You must have wireless earbuds. I dumped windows, tired of it grinding to a halt every 4 years. Chrome OS is a bit of an adjustment, I really would have rather had this as an Android tablet (I am previous ASUS Pad Phone owner).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alklim from Powerful and Smooth Chromebook. Great equipment..fast…powerful. Bought it for my middle schooler for school and work. He loves it …has not hit any snags yet and I haven’t heard any complaints. Used it with him and was smooth. He uses for entertainment as well and is telling me that he thinks it’s a better fit for him than the iPad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HPcom Customer from Almost perfect The product met my technical and performance expectations. However, after a couple of weeks of working fine, the device failed to start. Tried all the Google Chrome recommendations and those recommended by HP technical support but no luck. Returned the Chromebook. Waiting for HP to identify the source of the problem. My only issue, besides the power issue, with the device was the effectiveness of using the device on my lap. The keyboard flexibility could be improved and the back cover constantly fell off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Josh D from Almost the perfect tablet. I love that this device has front facing speakers and a SIM slot. Two major positives that are absent on most other tablets available. The microSD card slot is also great, and is becoming harder to find on tablets and phones. I can't understand why microSD slots are not present on every device. This device also comes with an excellent keyboard. The trackpad feels like glass, which is a plus. The keys are nice with good tactile feedback. I am glad this device comes with a pen in the box. My main issues with the device are: 1) Slightly sluggish performance 2) Poor speaker quality If HP updates this product (which I hope they do), I would like to see better quality speakers and an option to choose a lower resolution screen (1080p). I think a lower resolution screen would help the performance problems. The 7c has received an update by Qualcomm, but I still think it would struggle to drive the 2160x1440 resolution.

My Chromebook x2 is still under warranty and the front-facing camera stopped working. How can I get this addressed? The warranty site doesn't recognize the serial or model number.

Asked by: Mike R 001
We purchased 3 for our children's homeschooling. All 3 cameras died within 24 hrs of each other in the first two weeks of owning!! They were sent out for repair took 2 months and all they did was replace them. What is stopping it from happening again? This is unacceptable and no one with HP seems to care. I'm sorry for your experience, you are not alone.

Does the pen that comes with this support palm rejection?

Asked by: Imazman
After two conversations with HP sales support. For $469.99 the HP Chromebook x2 11-da0047nr does come with a pen AND the pen does support palm rejection. The pen also supports wireless charging when it is magnetically attached to the laptop. Based on this sales representative information, I have made the purchase. Anxiously awaiting.
