Rated 4 out of 5 by HP user from Decent computer I've had this laptop for two weeks now and I'm generally happy with it. The computer is reasonably fast, looks nice and has a good amount of storage space. The display is also quite good, with crisp and clear image quality. The computer is eerily silent when the fan isn't running, which is nice if you're trying to listen to music or watch a video. I've never had a computer that is so quiet before. However, when the fan is running, it makes quite a high-pitched noise, which some people might find a bit annoying, but that tends to only happen if there are a lot of programs running at the same time, or if a particular program or process puts a lot of strain on the CPU. The battery life is generally quite good, although I've found that the battery lasts for around 5 hours, instead of the 7 hours that HP claim it will last. The only major negative thing that I experienced with this computer is that it crashed on the first day that I set it up, resulting in a Blue Screen of Death. It then crashed again two days later. This turned out to be an issue with Windows Updates and not with the computer itself (it installed updates during the initial setup). Uninstalling the update fixed the issue. If this happens to you, try uninstalling updates first, instead of assuming that there's a fault with the computer. One thing that I found ironic was the link in the email that HP sent me, inviting me to write this review, didn't work on my new HP laptop. Instead I had to access it on my phone. I couldn't use my new computer to write a review of it. Overall, this is a good computer that functions well and would suit most people's needs.
