What can you do on Z that you couldn’t do before?
I’m using the Z to create very computationally intensive dynamics simulations that I wasn’t
able to do before – it’s very liberating.
What is the next thing you want to learn or experiment with Z?
Large Format Printing, 3D Printing, and continuing to experiment with Simulation Art.
What helps push your work further?
Having no fear to be uncomfortable and embracing the desire to be constantly learning,
constantly growing as a creative.

Jody is no stranger to adventure. As an award-winning photographer, she’s explored the
wildest frontiers of our planet. Over the span of a decade, she twice sailed around the
world on kiteboarding, sailing and surfing expeditions. She has traveled to over ninety
countries in search of the unknown.
Why Jody switched to Z by HP
What can you now do on a Z that you couldn’t do before?
JM: I’m always trying to find new ways to improve my workflow. For a long time, I struggled with having the confidence in a computer that’s durable and versatile enough for
me to take into the field. When I met with the HP team and they explained to me the
rigorous testing they put their products through, I became really excited to test them out. I
finally feel like I’ve found a computer that I can rely on, whether I’m way off the beaten
path or in my home office.
What helps push your work further?
JM: Stepping off the beaten path in pursuit of documenting stories that inspire people to
push the boundaries of their comfort zones and fight for positive change in the world.
That’s what inspires me and keeps motivating me to do better work.
What is your favorite Z feature?
JM: My favorite feature or tool is the pen on the ZBook X2. Honestly, it feels a lot like when
I used to take art classes in school. The pen is like a paintbrush that allows me to see and
edit details like I never have before. Now, editing my images has become this interactive
experience that inspires me to create and share with the world.
Who is someone that inspires you and why?
JM: There are so many people that inspire me. Anyone who has the courage to follow their
passion or curiosity in life inspires me, but if I had to name just one, it would be my brother. He lives life on his own terms. A very simple, rewarding life. He doesn’t give in to
societal pressures. He is the most interesting, confident, hardworking, giving, self-fulfilled
person that I have ever met and it’s hard not to be incredibly inspired by that.
