Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from The perfect Printer for Economical and Regular Printing I am in absolute love with the HP Smart Tank 580 Printer. Here's what I feel about it. Advantages: 1. Very low cost printing, both Black as well as Colour. One Bottle of Ink lasts for the number of pages as advertised. 2. Shh! It's very silent. Compared to my last Printer HP DeskJet 4929, this is 50% quieter i.e. perfect for my night prints. 3. Extremely simple to connect to Wi-Fi using the Mobile App. Same configuration carries forward to the Laptop. Supports Apple Air Print that I required on my MacBook Air. 4. Easy Ink Membership - I get a WhatsApp notification when the Ink is low. That's so cool! 5. 1+1 Warranty + Discounts of Supplies - I think it was the best deal. I have ink to print for years to come plus no worries about printer servicing costs. 6. Extremely cost effective ink supplies, much more economical than the original cartridges. 7. It is super-fast in printing. Prints again 70-80% faster than the DeskJet printers, all very silently. Disadvantages 1. The biggest one is that you need to keep the printer at one place all the time. If you move it here and there frequently, it WILL damage the printheads / ink pipes etc which is not covered under warranty. It was advised to me by HP Technical Support / Installation Engineer also not to keep moving it. So, yes, takes up a permanent space in the room. 2. It requires something called Printheads to print and I was advised that they dry up if I don't print at least 1-2 times a week. That's unlike the DeskJet printers which don't need a separate Printhead but even if these do, there should be a way to prevent them from drying, just in case you are on a vacation etc and cannot print in a week. 3. It should have automatic dual side printing. At this cost, I would really expect the printer to automatically print on both sides, without me manually flipping the page. 4. All printers should be shipped with a cover. Because they cannot be moved from one place to the other, a cover is required to prevent dust from getting collected. At least an optional buy should be the cover. 5. Need 5 GHz support. Good to have. Supports only 2.4 GHz for now. Overall It's a must have printer for education or small business. Ditch DeskJet and get this one. Way better!

The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I faced an issue during the installation process where the printer couldn't connect to my Wi-Fi and the technician couldn't resolve it. In the end, I had to fix the issue myself and heard from some others about similar issues during installation.

For the first time buying one for Personal use and I am so disappointed with the product. The product has a good build quality but not very user friendly. installed and tested after receiving the product. Put to actual use one week later and the result was very disappointing. The printer printed couple of pages and then it started showing warning related to color print head error. And at times it was a Christmas tree of lights. Highly disappointing experience. Initial wireless configuration is also complicated when compared to HP business printers.

For Black and White also product description mentions 12 ppm while in actual it prints around 4-5 pages per minute. Even after paying 15k you don't have support for dual side printing.

It takes ages to start a print and my Deskjet 3870 was much better compared to this except the ink cost. I was promised some gift at the time of purchase which has never come. I hate to say that I worked for this company for almost 20 years.
