Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a dream. Works like a dream. No problems with it, and unlike my other cheaper dock, my dual monitors fire up together, and my speaker doesn't jump into dock mode, making me change my speaker or unplug and plug in to refresh my monitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Solid USB-Dock - more functionalities would improve it. 2cnd dock I have bought from HP. First time I had some issues but the eventually got fixed. This time no issues. A good function to add to the dock would be the ability to loop Laptop charging so that you could consistently charge a laptop between 20% and 80% to extend battery life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot run 2 x 28" UHD monitors Called HP Australia for advice on best dock to purchase for my home office set up. Long story short I was eventually sold this G5 dock. Very disappointing product. It cannot run 2 x 28" UHD monitors. The transformer is 120W which seems to be under the power requirements needed for such operation. I spoke with about 4 people in the HP team over about 2 hours (on and off hold), neither seemed to have any technical knowledge on these products. Currently trying to get a refund on it at does do what it says on the box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great except video fails to wake The G5 has worked mostly perfectly for over 1 year. It performs all communications functions, powers my Probook 640 G4 via USB-C, and displays video output correctly. HOWEVER, the failure to wake video output on machine wake-up is still an issue after how many years of production anc numerous firmware updates. My G5 dock firmware was updated to latest this week (June 2022) and the video out will still not wake when the docking station is awakened. HP's only answer is to blame the monitors, but this issue is only occurs when using the dock video outs, direct from laptop or alternative sources works fine. The Dell docking stations work better on HP machines...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It functions but requires tweaking for HD monitors The form factor is great but could do with a longer USB lead or having the option to use your own. I spent ages dealing with tech support in order to get my widescreen monitor to function in the correct resolution, at first they were informing me that it was not possible. You just need to enable HD video via USB-C their tech support should be able to assist with this. Overall now that it is working well with my device I am pleased although would prefer a longer lead as mentioned above so that I could reclaim more of my desk space.

I bought this product recently based on having previously used it in a workplace situation, noting that with the new ways of working with any employer generally requires a remote setup to be done. Also, given there are some great pricing deals readily available at present, the timing was equally good. I find this docking station suitable for attaching laptops, PCs, keyboards, mice, headsets and other such cables that would normally require additional power points to be in place amongst a myriad of cables flowing in and out of large screen monitors. It’s ease of setup and overall functionality is impressive and offers great portability value for money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Compatible!! Bought HP G5 dock to work with my HP Omen laptop. After numerous attempts and an hour on the phone with HP tech help, it appears HP products are not compatible with other HP products! In this age of plug and play, HP can't make docks that are compatible with its own laptops. To top it all, you can't find this information on the net before you buy the product! Think someone at HP needs to have look in the mirror and think where they're headed in terms of making products that work with each other.

However, if you want to run three monitors, you need to hunt down a KB article to run the USB ports at reduced speed to enable the third monitor.
