Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken down new printer/scanner/copier This particular printer was only able to print. It would not scan or copy - only more or less black output occurred. HP was notified and have accepted it is a defective product. Their logistics company was supposed to contact me to arrange return then after a number of further days, a new one is supposed to be delivered. So far the logistics company has not contacted me for the return, let alone a new replacement. HP needs to improve their service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from simple setup, quick to print from standby over wireless network I was surprised how easy this was to unbox and print my first page from windows 10 pro. the printer showed up in devices and printers automatically and printed to it without customising any configuration. from sleeping to delivering a page takes just under ten seconds which I'm very happy with. paper tray 1 i dont use. paper tray 2 doesnt quite fit A4 in it without pushing the rear brackets about 10mm rearward such that they then sit proud of the body of the printer. the engineers have put a hinged flap over that on the rear of the printer to accommodate this, but i was surprised that the printer wasn't just made 10mm bigger to eliminate this oddity. i also notice that on at least one supplier invoice that i regularly print, the margins exceed the printable area of the printer which is the most disappointing thing i've experienced with this printer so far. it's relatively minor and wont stop me from continuing to use the printer but i definitely would have appreciated being able to print closer to the edges of the paper rather than truncating the prints. a high capacity toner cartridge is almost equal to the cost of the whole printer so thats disappointing too, but it seems all manufacturers are in on this pricing "strategy" - to use diplomatic terminology. a close look at the documentation lets you read the fact that hp has programmed this printer to only use HP toner cartridges too so theres no escaping the cost of the toner. i have only printed from acrobat reader using the toner save feature so far. the print clarity is equal to expectation, and likely better again with the toner save feature turned off. this printer was recommended to me by a friend who works as a printer repair technician who believes that this printer is likely to deliver reliable service based on his observation of the performance of it in businesses he sees it operating in.

I know that the M430 model can scan both sides at the same time with the ADF. just wondering if the model can do the same.

Hi. I need to use Apple AirPrint, and I believe AirPrint requires wi-fi capability, but the product specifications for this printer say that it does have AirPrint compatability, despite this model not having wi-fi. Or does this printer have wi-fi?
