2012

Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics. HP earned a top spot on the 2012 Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics, placing second on the list and ranking as the top U.S. company. (November 2012)

Newsweek 2012 Green Rankings. HP once again earned a top spot on the Newsweek Green Rankings in recognition of our commitment to environmental sustainability. For the third year in a row, we ranked 2nd on Newsweek's listing of the top 500 U.S. companies. In addition, we placed 22nd on the Global 500 list. (October 2012)

2012 Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index. For the second consecutive year, HP is featured in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index issued by the Carbon Disclosure Project, which ranks companies on the transparency and progress they have made on their carbon emissions and climate change goals. (September 2012)

Dow Jones Sustainability Index. HP is are among the top companies named to the 2012 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, which measures a company's economic, environmental, and social performance. (September 2012)

International Visual Communication Association. HP's 2011 Global Citizenship Report and website wins Clarion Award for best corporate communications website. (September 2012)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. HP receives 2012 SmartWay Excellence Award for outstanding environmental performance. (August 2012)

Interbrand. For the second year in a row, HP has been named to the listing of the 50 Best Global Green Brands. HP ranked first among technology companies and placed fifth overall. (Jun 2012)

GREENBEST Award 2012. HP Brazil received, for the second consecutive year, the GREENBEST Award in the Technology category, with HP Original Cartridges elected as the most sustainable product in the Brazilian market. (May 2012)

FTSE4Good Index. HP was named to the FTSE4Good Index for the ninth year in a row. The index objectively measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards. (May 2012)

Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. HP Fort Collins Sustainable Data Center received the 2011 Environmental Business Ripple Award, recognizing its use of "groundbreaking technology to minimize power for cooling while providing a research center to continually develop new sustainable technology." (February 2012)

2011

Climate Counts Company Scorecard. HP has been ranked #1 in the electronics sector of the 2011 Climate Counts Company Scorecard, which scores the world's largest companies on their climate impact. HP was also placed in the new top-tier “striding” category, which highlights companies that are “striding towards a low-carbon future.” (December 2011)

Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics. HP has claimed the top spot in the Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics, scoring 5.9 points out of a possible 10. (November 2011)

Top Green-IT Vendors 2011. HP was ranked #2 on Computerworld’s 2011 list of the Top Green-IT Vendors, moving up four positions from its 2010 ranking. (November 2011)

NEWSWEEK 2011 Green Rankings. HP was rated again among the top environmental leaders on the U.S. 500 and Global 500 Greenest Companies lists. (October 2011).

Interbrand. HP has been named to the inaugural listing of the 50 Best Global Green Brands. HP ranked first among technology companies and placed fifth overall.

Mediacorp Canada. HP was recognized by Mediacorp Canada as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the fourth year in a row. In addition, HP Advanced Solutions, HP’s subsidiary for services delivery, was also named to the list.

GREENBEST 2011. The MFP HP F4480 printer was named the winner of a GREENBEST award in Brazil. The printer was chosen based on its environmentally sound design, use of recycled plastics in both the printer and HP cartridges, and its ENERGY STAR® certification.

2010

Climate Counts Company Scorecard HP was ranked #2 in the Climate Counts Company Scorecard, and repeated as #1 in the Electronics Sector. Scores are based on what has been done to measure and reduce emissions, what actions have been taken on climate legislation and how work has been communicated. (December 2010)

NEWSWEEK 2010 Green Rankings. HP was rated among the top environmental leaders on the U.S. 500 and Global 100 Greenest Companies lists. (October 2010)

Top 12 Green-IT vendors 2010. HP was selected as one of the 2010 Top 12 Green-IT Vendors by Computerworld magazine. (October 2010)

Corporate Responsibility Magazine. HP was ranked #1 on the Best Corporate Citizens in Government Contracting 2010 list. (October 2010)

Dow Jones Sustainability Index. HP was named as a leader in the “Computer Hardware and Electronic Office Equipment” sector of the Worldwide and North America indexes. (September 2010)

50 Green Companies 2010 in China. For the second year in a row, HP was named one of China’s 50 Green Companies by Business Watch magazine. The award is organized by Business Watch magazine, Hexun, BiMBA, British Standards Institution (BSI) and Corporate Citizenship in Action. (September 2010)

Low Carbon Champion 2010. People.com.cn, one of the most influential government websites in China, recognized China HP as the China Low Carbon Champion for 2010. (August 2010)

Green Enterprise IT Award 2010. Uptime Institute selected HP as a winner of a 2010 Green Enterprise IT Award in the Data Center Design category for its Wynyard facility in the UK. (May 2010)

PrintAction magazine. For the fifth year in a row, HP received multiple Environmental Printing Awards. These included Gold awards for its Carbon Footprint Calculator for Printing tool and Most Environmentally Progressive Technology Supplier in Canada. HP also won a Bronze award for its HP Designjet L25500 Printer Series technology. (April 2010)

Asia Society Northern California awards HP as Business & Policy honoree for making sustainability an integral part of its business operations. (April 2010)

Corporate Responsibility Magazine. HP is named No. 1 on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens List (March 2010)

2009

2009 Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP) HP repeats win of California's 2009 WRAP with four locations recognized for waste reduction, reuse and recycling efforts (December 2009)

Climate Counts Company Scorecard HP was ranked #1 in Climate Counts Company Scorecard, Electronics sector, based on measurement, goals and results for reducing company-wide impact on global warming (November 2009)

Newsweek's Green Rankings. HP tops Newsweek's Green Rankings of America's 500 largest corporations (September 2009) 

AMR Research names HP for Sustainability and Innovation Award, recognizing use of the "transformational nature of sustainability and the emerging low-carbon economy to foster innovation of products and services that deliver efficiency and sustainability elsewhere across the economy." (May 2009)

Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO). HP ranked #5 on CRO's 100 Best Corporate Citizens for 2009 (February 2009) 

Corporate Knights & Innovest. HP is on the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list for its positive impact on society and the environment (January 2009)

Puerto Rico Manufacturing Association. HP Aguadilla was awarded the Environmental Performance Award 2008 for its commitment to environmental sustainability (January 2009)

2008

EDS an HP Company, wins the ''Green Data Centre Award'' for the Wynyard Data Center, recognizing its design and operation with environmental considerations as a primary factor. (December 2008)

Gartner Group and World Wildlife Fund. HP scores well in Gartner and WWF Assessment of Low Carbon and Environmental Leadership amount Global ICT Companies. (November 2008)

HP Honored for 'Green' Practices. HP was awarded a Green Enterprise IT Award during a ceremony at the third annual Symposium for Green Enterprise Computing held in Orlando, Florida. (April 2008)

China Green Company Index names HP on its China Green Company list for 2007 for its environmental and social contributions in China. (April 2008)

ExpoComm. HP Mexico was named the most environmentally responsible technology company in two out of three categories in the first “Green Comm Awards” presented at ExpoComm. (February 2008)

PrintAction Magazine HP Canada received a Gold award in the category of Environmental Community Involvement for partnership with Learning for a Sustainable Future. (February 2008)

Wal-Mart. HP Named Wal-Mart Supplier of the Year for its role in helping the world’s largest retailer expand its printer and ink business and develop environmental initiatives. (February 2008)

Energy efficiency

Flex Your Power HP Cupertino received a Flex Your Power Award in the Energy Efficiency category for its data center efficiency improvements (December 2008)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) honored HP for conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. (October 2008)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) HP received a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. EPA for its leadership in conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions from its surface transportation supply chain. (October 2008)

The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded HP Aguadilla (Puerto Rico) the Energy Savings Assessment award for making progress in implementing assessment recommendations to save energy and cut costs. (June 2008)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently recognized HP’s Corvallis, Oregon, site with a "Performance Track Outreach Award,” given annually to companies that demonstrate excellence in both their environmental stewardship as well as their outreach to employees and external organizations. (June 2008)

Uptime Institute. HP received a Green Enterprise IT Award, which honors organizations that are pioneering energy-efficiency improvements in their data center operations. (April 2008)

Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). HP’s entire personal workstation line has become the first in the category to achieve a “Gold” listing –- the highest rating products can achieve (April 2008)

Corporate Knights & Innovest. HP is on the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list for positive impact on society and the environment (January 2008)

Reuse and recycling

Analyst Firm Gives HP High Marks for Reuse, Recycling Capabilities. IDC has recognized HP as a certified IT Asset Disposal vendor, noting that business customers can have confidence in HP’s ability to safely and securely decommission IT assets they no longer need — whether made by HP or another manufacturer. (July 2008)

Society of Plastics Engineers. HP has been named the recipient of the Dan Eberhardt Environmental Stewardship Award for its closed loop system for plastics recycling. (March 2008)

	U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) HP Puerto Rico receives the Environmental Quality Award for its E-Cycling Program at the Aguadilla manufacturing facility. (April 2007) Newsweek Magazine HP is number eight on the 100 Greenest Companies. (April 2007) Fortune Magazine HP is on the Green Giant list, which highlights the 10 companies that have gone beyond what the law requires to operate in an environmentally responsible way. (March 2007) American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) AF&PA Business Leadership Recycling Award recognizes HP as a company that promotes paper recovery and recycling through educational, cost-effective workplace programs (March 2007) PrintAction HP Canada receives a Silver award in the category of Most Environmentally Progressive Vendor.
