HP Named Wal-Mart Supplier of the Year
PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 13, 2008
HP today announced that it has been named a Wal-Mart supplier of the year for its role in helping the world’s largest retailer expand its printer and ink business and develop environmental initiatives.
The 2007 Wal-Mart Supplier of the Year award was presented to HP in front of more than 2,000 Wal-Mart employees and suppliers at Wal-Mart’s annual Supplier Summit held Jan. 29 in Rogers, Ark.
“This award represents a lot of dedication by many HP organizations,” said Kristen Woods, sales director, U.S. Consumer Business, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, HP. “Wal-Mart is one of our most valued customers, and we’re proud to be able to bring our broad technology portfolio and leadership in environmental responsibility to help them better serve theirs.”
Over the course of 2007, Wal-Mart’s sales of HP printer and ink products grew at three times the rate of the industry, and profit in this segment doubled over the prior year.
