HP Proactive Support is a tool imbedded into multiple HP software including HP Web Jetadmin 8.1 for Windows, HP Easy Printer Care (Windows) and  HP Printer Utility (Mac OS). It offers proactive troubleshooting capabilities that identifies, diagnoses, and resolves problems with your commercial imaging and printing product.

Once enabled, the HP Proactive Support software runs in the background and intelligently detects and provides fixes for known issues with HP commercial Imaging and printing products. In many cases, an automated fix is offered to resolve any problems found. If a problem cannot be resolved automatically, specific content is supplied to guide you to the next appropriate steps.

HP Proactive Support also notifies you of software updates such as new drivers or printer firmware so you'll always have the latest software available.


Whenever HP Proactive Support detects a potential issue or determines that  new software is available it alerts you via the familiar alerts pop-up dialog or desktop alert as appropriate.

HP Proactive Support can be scheduled to run at daily, weekly or monthly schedules as desired and runs in the background so as not to impede your work.

Updates for HP Proactive Support can be similarly scheduled to ensure that the set of known issues or software updates remains current
