Replacement programs

HP participates in voluntary replacement programs for components or products that may cause functionality issues but are not related to a safety hazard.


Recalls

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, HP participates in voluntary recall programs when a defective part is shown to cause a potential safety hazard.

» HP Replacement Program: Kung Fu Panda™ USB Flash Drive

On February 13, 2009 HP announced a voluntary recall of a promotional USB flash drive molded in the form of an animated character in the DreamWorks Animation® film "Kung Fu Panda™." The flash drive cap (corresponding to the panda's pants) may pose a potential choking hazard to small children.

» HP Fax 1010 and 1010xi safety recall

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, on June 26, 2008, HP announced a voluntary recall and replacement program for HP Fax 1010 and 1010xi. Affected HP customers will be eligible to receive a rebate for qualified products.

» HP notebook battery safety recall

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and other safety regulatory authorities, HP announced worldwide safety recall and replacement programs for batteries used in certain HP notebooks on the following dates: May 14, 2009 (expanded on May 19, 2010), October 30, 2008, April 20, 2006 and October 14, 2005. HP customers affected by these programs are eligible to receive a replacement battery for each verified, recalled battery, at no cost.

» HP L2035 Flat Panel Monitor Safety recall

On some L2035 Flat Panel Monitors, a ground clip may have been incorrectly installed within the inside plastic panel of the monitor, posing a potential for an electric shock hazard.


The power adapter used with certain HP Vectra speakers is not grounded.


» HP Deskjet and Photosmart consumer safety recall

On some products, the plug that connects the power cord to the printer may crack.
