Description
The page scanned through the automatic document feeder (ADF
)has one or more dark streak(s) in the feed (horizontal) direction that extend across the entire page.
Most likely causes
- The ADF glass slit to the left of the flatbed glass (ADF glass window
) has dark contamination on it.

. - To confirm that ADF dark streak(s) is your print quality issue, you need to print a gray test page using Microsoft Internet Explorer by following the steps below.
- Perform the setup page procedure. Show me how.
- Click to display the gray test page and a print dialog window using your computer.
- Click the print button at the bottom of the print dialog window to print the gray test page.
- Use the ADF to make another copy of the gray test page that you printed earlier.

If you are experiencing misfeeds, clean the ADF roller
and the ADF pad
in the ADF.

- Look at the copy of the gray test page. If the copy of the test page shows ADF dark streak(s) as illustrated above, clean the ADF glass window
to the left of the flatbed glass. Show me how.
- Use the ADF to make another copy of the gray test pages that you printed earlier. Show me how. If the issue is not resolved, calibrate the scanner. Show me how.
