One thing that should never leave your office

One thing that should never leave your office

While many healthcare practices have implemented stringent processes for the control and disposition of data, one area that is frequently overlooked is the disposal of defective disk drives, including those residing in printing and imaging devices. This vulnerability could put your patient's data at risk of a data breach and potentially subject your practice to civil and financial penalties.
HP Services provides a security enhancing offering that is ideal for a healthcare practice: HP's Disk Media Retention. This service is specifically designed for offices that need to control and secure classified, proprietary, and confidential data and are subject to data privacy regulations. With Disk Media Retention, in the event of a repair, you keep the disk and the critical information on it without having to deal with the hassle and expense of ordering and paying for a new drive.
Getting support for your desktop PCs, laptops, workstations, and server and storage products is easy with HP Hardware Support + Disk Media Retention. You simply call a toll-free number and an HP Technical phone agent will diagnose the issue and dispatch (if needed or approved) an HP-employed Service Engineer and any necessary parts to your site. If you prefer, your HP hardware can also be supported by your local preferred HP partner, or Authorized Support Provider (ASP).The engineer or ASP will arrive and replace the malfunctioning disk drive. Prior to your repair, the engineer will know the hard drive is not to leave your site. While HP is not responsible for destroying the disk, you can be assured that the data will not leave your control.
HP's Next Day Onsite Service with Disk Media Retention for select HP LaserJet and DesignJet printers with hard disk drives also allows you to keep your malfunctioning drives after a service event. The service provides a replacement disk drive and all onsite services deliverables, performed by an HP-employed Service Engineer or ASP.
HP Defective Media Retention is available as a component of hardware support in HP Care Pack Services, which offer a variety of response and coverage options. DMR can also be purchased as part of a service contract, with a wide range of coverage, response, and support levels available. And if you're concerned that it's too late to add this important protection to existing hardware in your office, you should know that DMR does not have to be purchased at the same time as the hardware.
*Please note that service levels and actual response times may vary depending on your geographic location. Service starts on date of hardware purchase. Restrictions and limitations apply. Availability of HP Digital Media Retention varies depending on product. For details, visit www.hp.com/go/carepack.
