I regret my HP purchase
My wife and I have been using HP desktop computers for the past 16 years. I decided to switch to laptops. I ordered two Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15t-fa100 computers.
Issue No. 1: Since I wanted the ability to sync Outlook contacts and calendar entries across devices, I included a Microsoft Office 365 Family one year subscription. Atter receiving the computers, I discovered that the ability to sync contacts and calendar entries was only included with the “Business” versions of Office 365, but not the “Family” versions. Microsoft told me I could cancel the subscription for a full refund since it was within 30 days of activation but I would need to get a refund from HP. HP informed me that they would not refund the subscription fee since it was part of a customized PC.
Issue No 2: After setting up the laptops with a cheap docking station that allowed me to hook up two monitors, keyboard and mouse, I wanted to order a better docking station that would allow me charge the laptop, power on without opening, and included an audio port for speakers. The HP website recommended an expensive 280w docking station that I was considering since each laptop came with a 200w power supply. To be safe I ordered both the 280w and a 150w HP docking station to test. I discovered that neither docking station appeared to charge the laptops. After quite a bit of research, I discovered that the Victus usb-c docking port does not support charging even though the specs on the HP site include “1 USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge)”. Since I purchased the docking stations from Amazon, I was able to return the 280w for a full refund. I decided to keep and order a second 150w docking station since it did everything I wanted except charge the laptop. I would need to keep the laptop plugged in while docked.
Issue No. 3: After using the new systems for a couple days, I noticed that one of my two monitors would intermittently go black for about 2 to 3 seconds, then turn back on. This would happen to either monitor but only one at a time. I did not have this problem with my cheap non-HP docking station. After additional research it appears that this has been an on-going problem with many HP docking stations for the past 2 years. It appears that nobody has been able to solve this issue.
Since I am not playing active games on the computers, I can live with the problem but find it very annoying.
I believe this will be my last HP computer purchase.

Perfect gaming computer for my kids
I got two of these for my kids and they use them to play all of their favorite games including Roblox, Farming simulator, Minecraft and so many more. We have not had any issues with them. very reliable.

Great quality at a low price.
I originally bought an HP Victus just for use while traveling since I was quite happy with my HP desktop for home use. I was so pleased with the specs of the Victus that I bought another one for use at work. It's easily the best laptop I've ever had, and at a very decent price, too!

Depending on your performance/battery settings, you have to charge it pretty often, but it’s perfect for gaming (heavy-duty like COD, Warframe, Fortnite, etc.) and even SolidWorks if you’re using it for CAD classes or such while in college or after 👍🏻. You don’t really have to get a monitor if you don’t want to.

BEST SERVICE EVER, but one tiny mistake was made
HP has some of the best customer service I’ve ever seen. The only issue was that the wrong screen was put into my laptop so I had to return the laptop and get a replacement. Other than that, I would recommend HP to anybody.

Great Gaming Laptop and Reasonable Price
For a pre-built option, it was quick to ship and arrive. The sale price I paid was also one of the main reasons I opted for the victus for my daughter. My HP Omen laptop is 3 years old now and the two are about equal in specs so she will have no problem keeping up with mine.

Good If You Are A Gamer
HP's online chat advisor was so helpful, I never questioned her recommendation regarding the Victus gaming model, although she had the list of major applications the new computer had to support. Gaming was definitely NOT in that list. Perhaps she was trying to address the photo and video-editing and design apps that require high performance and excellent graphics. Just wish it was possible to get all the gaming stuff out of the way.
HP features are easy to use. Graphics are good. Online instructions are very helpful.
Typically, laptop "mousepads" are annoying, but this one is very responsive and actually fun to use. Still learning all the nuances of when/how to use two fingers vs one finger to access menu and app functions. i.e. Just discovered using two fingers on a taskbar or start menu item brings up a menu that allows adding or removing that app from the respective pin location. Still don't care for having to reach over it to get to the keyboard, but most of the time will be using a Bluetooth full-size keyboard anyway.
The real test will come when the afore-mentioned apps are fully loaded. Have not yet pushed the performance boundaries, but just waking the computer up has improved daily operations immensely over the previous 10-year-old HP desktop Pavilion! The increase in memory shows up immediately in handling all the background tasks that have to run in today's operating and security systems world.

why no DVD drive in HP15L computer?
Thank you for your question! As consumer demands for laptops lean towards slimmer, lighter, and longer battery life, internal DVD disc drives are no longer being offered. An external USB is a great option for this laptop.

When you select the customize and buy and choose the "15.6" diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS, micro-edge, anti-glare, Low Blue Light, 300 nits" option under the Display section. This option will have the color gamut of 100% sRGB.

Hello. Thanks for your question. This Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15t-fa100 does not have a USB C Thunderbolt port. This laptop requires a 200 Watt Smart AC power adapter. That means it cannot be charged by USB C. It requires that higher-wattage power adapter.
