Rated 3 out of 5 by Abe. from Windows Version I bought this a few days ago. I was under the impression it came with Windows 11, but it was Windows 10 out of the box. I had to run Windows 10 version updates and a BIOS update before I was able to update to Windows 11.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Blane from HP Probook Great so far--But one thing I do not like is the backlit keyboard turns off and at night in the dark I can't see the keys before I have to hit a key to light it up. Kinda frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DBussert from Help! Since Microsoft provides no support for their products, I think HP should do so...somebody has to! I am tired of feeling like I need to go back to college to figure out how to set up Microsoft products. It is a nightmare that hardware manufacturers should not have to face...but somebody has to...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from so far so good love the keyboard and love the speed and power of this laptop. Windows 11 compatability is great. needs to have more hdmi ports so consumers don't have to pay several hundreds of dollars for external ports. Only had the laptop for a few weeks but I'm happy with the purchase .

Rated 5 out of 5 by delta_sierra from Powerful, Reliable, and Affordable Business Laptop Impressive performance, great battery laptop, good display quality, decent keyboard, reliable, and still able to replace SSD, RAM, and battery rather than being all soldered and molded in like most new thin and light notebooks these days. The 15.6" display lets you keep the numpad on the keyboard whereas it's gone on 13" and 14" notebooks. Just really great overall value on these AMD-based notebooks. Especially if you look out / wait for deals on ProBook 455's, you can get these priced in the same range as lower-quality consumer class models. Also happy to see 16GB RAM laptops more common and less price hike over 8GB models. Same for SSD's where 512GB and even 1TB SSD models aren't obscene -- at least not on the ProBook 4xx range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from New computer with error code 30 First this is the best computer I have ever purchased. You get 3 stars because I now have "error 30 printer not installed" message when I try to print a PDF AND I CANNOT FIX IT. I use this computer for business. If I had known I would never have purchased this computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by alp8019 from Great laptop, but... This is a great laptop, but if you are buying it for personal use it can be very frustrating when you try to navigate websites or even navigating from one app to another. It has the feeling of old school dial-up internet until there are a few tweaks applied. I found that there are some domain-level services running on this machine that were causing it to run really slow. Just loading a simple website (yahoo, msn, dilbert...) it would take 5 minutes to load a single site without any exaggeration. I disabled some of the services that are designed to be listening in a domain environment and it took these same pages from a 5 minute load time to 1 - 2 seconds. The services I disabled are the HP Sure Click services. I also disabled the HP Security Update service, as I will be checking for updates manually myself. If you do not know how to or do not want to hassle with running your own updates, this is a service that should likely remain enabled. If you can plan to check for updates on your own, this will have a positive impact on performance to disable the security update service. It is important to note that if it is disabled, one must be diligent about applying updates manually. I hope this feedback helps someone looking into this machine. It is a solid laptop after applying these tweaks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Alvar from Poor Display but Good for Travelling GIS I haven't bought a new computer in almost ten years, so I just assumed a laptop around this price would have a good display, but no amount of color calibration could produce the color red. I thought I could also overlook the absence of a SD card port, but there is a fair amount of empty space to the right of the trackpad that likely could have housed a port. Nowhere was I able to find HP's 100% sRGB display for sale. Even saving from the sale, I still feel like I should've got something else. It was only because people reported their Envys overheating that I went with the ProBook, and I wanted a full sized keyboard. So be prepared to replace your display, if you can find one. I'm still trying to find a substitute to buy. The keys are also too sensitive, sometimes typing if your finger is rested on the surface while hitting other keys. The bottom panel is also plastic instead of metal like the rest of the exterior. The rest of the computer seems good so far. Battery life is the same as my old notebook despite having a way better processor and RAM, so the battery life is good it seems. The AMD Ryzen 7 5825U has been running phenomenally well for me. Both of my OS boot up instantly and everything else runs super fast. I was worried that I may need discrete graphics but I tried various games with good graphics and it plays them just fine. I still haven't tried art rendering software but it should run those well enough for my needs. Headphones play loud and clear. I upgraded the RAM already and have a 2280 SSD on the way for the second port, just Gen3 to save money. The BIOS security is a nice addition as well. I haven't tried out the keybinding key but that looks like it will be handy in the future. I'd give this laptop 5 stars if it came with a good display. My main reason for purchase was to run GIS and light use of CAD and game engines, and just in case I needed a laptop for remote work, but I still also like art and photography. To have the color red look like a muddy orange is absolutely unacceptable. I've never seen such a terrible display in my life.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mr. Rob from It is good but... Initially, I purchased a 'Pavillion' model and took a chance that the negative review about the laptop being potentially delivered without the specified 'keyboard back light' would not happen to me. When it arrived, it did not have the 'backlight'; so, it was returned with relative ease. A reorder for the correct model was made and then shortly cancelled because the inventory was exhausted and the laptop had to be made which would take about two weeks. I did not wish to wait; so, I decided to 'upgrade' to a 'Notebook' and ordered the 'HP ProBook 455'. It was delivered as promised in just two days, and 'HP' paid for the express shipping cost because my previous order could not be accommodated. When the 'HP 455 ProBook' arrived, it was set up. After a day, the 'Infra-red' camera for facial recognition stopped working. I tried to troubleshoot by removing the 'Infra-red' camera and then downloading the most recent 'Drivers'. This did not work; so, the HP Service Technician suggested resetting the 'Notebook' to the factory settings. After doing so, the 'Infra-red' facial recognition worked. I was then invited to upgrade to Windows 11, as this 'Notebook' came with Windows 10 Pro. After downloading Windows 11, the 'facial recognition feature stopped working. So, I had to reset the 'Notebook' to the factory settings, AGAIN. It then worked and has since been working. Unfortunately, this journey included one transfer to another technician, dropped telephone calls, and then needing to 'start all over' several times. And, with all respect to those who tried to help me, I was equally frustrated with trying to get over the language barriers. While I was very frustrated, the technicians were exceedingly patient. In closing, I have been a long standing 'HP' customer for about twenty years. So far, I like the 'HP Probook 455'; but, I think any prospective buyer should be ready for a 'potential ride'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Harry's Bride from HP ProBook 455 G9 is a winner! This laptop is incredibly fast in its speed from start up through shut down. Programs that dragged on my old (different brand) laptop are markedly faster making my work, and down time, much more efficient and less stressful. Thanks, HP, for always providing great laptops!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Erdem from Excellent laptop Incredible performance and great design! However, on the specifications page, some things are not entirely true. The webcam is full HD, not HD and its quality is better than the G8 series. HP used Quanta's webcam. Also, the disk is Gen4 SSD which gives better performance than expected. Don't think twice, just buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by delta_sierra from Affordable, Powerful, Quality Laptop These are competitively-priced business laptops with good build quality, decent monitors, powerful AMD processors with strong Vega integrated graphics, low weight, good battery life, and a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports. Most SKU's have new Realtek Wi-Fi 6 chips, which is a nice upgrade from the Realtek Wi-Fi 5 chips in the G7 models that seemed to have a hardware flaw, causing them to be buggy. Most SKU's also have backlit, spill-resistant keyboards, which is a nice touch at this price point and considering they aren't the step-up EliteBook models. This particular SKU (or P/N as HP calls it) has these features.
