Premium Mid-range Well-built Laptop
I Bought this laptop about 6 months ago. And after 6 months I can say this is a solid laptop, a great value for the price. The display is very nice, build quality is very premium, It is extremely light-weight, very easy to carry around. The only issue i had so far was with the battery life, I wish it would've given more backup. I get around 3hrs of battery backup with heavy use (VS Code, Chrome Multiple tabs, sumatraPdf).

Have owned for 3 months,
The price, speed and the display all sold me. Perhaps the only issue is the fingerprint reader can be a bit wonky not recognizing one out of four attempts...but it's a minor inconvenience and certainly not a reason to skip on this unit.

Please Mute BIOS Error Beep Sound
Overall quality is good for its price (on discount).
My biggest complaint is that super loud beep error sound when I click a wrong button in BIOS drives me crazy. It is the loudest beep sound I’ve ever heard and I can’t even control the volume in BIOS page.
PLEASE add a setting in BIOS to mute the error beep noise. It’s insane that there’s no option for this.

Light and fast..fan high pitched. Good value. So light though plugging in usb power takes two hands as it slides along table. Not quite as expected and can makes whine or whistles.. likely because so thin. Touchpad is cheap and sticky...plastic. fingerprint reader dodgy..50/50 first time. Overall, too many compromises.

Purchased the aero 13 with upgraded Ryzen 5600 and higher resolution screen...
I was pleasantly surprised as I was replacing a Dell XPS 9305...backlit keyboard is far better and am able to type far faster than the Dell...Screen is crystal clear with superb detail for a more budget laptop price.
No issues so far and have to say that with the sale price offered it was a great choice.

Great small and light laptop
Wonderful small and light laptop. Great screen, keyboard layout seems fine. The drop jaw type A USB sockets are a little difficult to use but perhaps worth it for the small and light form factor. I wish the keys were dark instead of silver (this is the case of form over function in so many laptops these days), there are some situations where the keys are difficult to see. Replacing the barrel plug charger with another type c port would make the port selection perfect.

Networking not working
I never got this laptop going. It would not connect on the network that our other computers, phones, and devices use. I returned it after spending over three hours in support chats with three different people. After one guy left I’d have to start over with someone new. In the end I had no confidence in the laptop and decided to return it.

Runs poorly, can barely hold a charge, and the Bluetooth function just outright doesn't work. It can't connect or even see any Bluetooth devices and on the rare occasion you get it to see a device and then connect, the device won't work. Please just get something that actually works. Don't waste your money.

Right out of the box the speakers did not work. So I have to return it, wait for it to be reviewed, and then wait another week for the replacement? 2 weeks plus wasted because I chose to buy this laptop. I will never support HP again. Customer service has been a massive let down.

Needs a different keyboard and different OS.
I have limited eyesight and cannot read the letters on the keyboard---they blend in too much with the color of the keys. Having them backlit does not help either. I need high contrast between the keys and the letters. My second reason for returning this laptop is that it comes with Windows 11 which requires me to create an account with Microsoft. I refuse to do that. I want a computer that is completely disconnected from the internet, one that I can use only locally like the old days.

Great option if you want a really lightweight PC!
Super lightweight and portable!! Love that. Screen size is still good for streaming movies, but it's harder to view multiple pages at once. Keyboard size and trackpad are great, but noise is loud. Image quality could be better, but sound/speakers are good. Processing speed is definitely not the fastest but not too slow for day to day usage.

No complaints so far. Weight is crazy light. Appreciate the fast boot-up. Wish there was an easy guide to stripping out all the extra Microsoft junk, but I can find how-tos on the internet. Haven't demanded much of the processor, but that's just the kind of user I am - laptop is for work, not play, so no games, etc. Construction is solid, keyboard seems to be the perfect size for my hands/fingers. Display is nice.

nice lightweight but unworkable
Like the laptop and it's lightweight but I have been unable to connect to my home wi-fi. It's not the wi-fi it's something in the computer blocking the connection. We have had guests come with their laptops and connect many times, so the problem is with this laptop. I spent 6 hours on the phone with customer service and got no where. I even had one of the techs I work with take a look and he was unable to solve the issue.

This is a very nice 13" laptop. Good battery life, nice keyboard, very lightweight, nice screen, lot of I/O ports and a competitive prices.
I only wish it supported face log in. The finger print scanner works only half the time but logging in with a PIN is so bad.

A Good Laptop Overall
So far, I'm glad about my purchase of this laptop. It's thin, light, and has a decent number of ports for a 13-inch laptop, though I do wish it had at least another USB-C port or a micro-SD card reader. The screen looks great and is probably the best screen I've seen on a laptop of this size. The fingerprint scanner works well, and I have no complaints about the trackpad. While I do prefer Wi-Fi cards from Intel, the Realtek card this comes with performs around the same as an iPhone 14 Pro in the speed tests I've done, so no complaints there either. Keyboard is pretty good too and the backlighting works well at full brightness. The low setting makes it a bit hard to read the keys. Battery life is good. Several hours of use with basic web-browsing, YouTube, Zoom, and using Steam's Remote Play feature to game on my gaming PC through the laptop with no problems.
In my use, the only downside of this machine is the audio quality of the speakers. They're not that loud, but that is to be expected with smaller laptops. I did have an issue where static was almost always coming from the left speaker when any audio was playing but disabling the audio enhancements fixed that. The webcam isn't the best either, but it's good enough for a quick Zoom or Teams call. The built-in mics are surprisingly good though.
Overall, if you're looking for a laptop with good battery life, excellent performance, lightweight, and has a great display, you can't go wrong with this machine.

Best thin and light laptop, ever!
This is hands-down the best thin and light laptop you can buy. Performance of the Ryzen 5 5600U is that of a top-end desktop-class CPU just a couple of years ago. The Vega iGPU is not as good as the newer Navi on e.g. a 6600U, but still enough to play all kinds of games, including newer ones. I played a lot of Fortnite and Orc Must Die 3 on the laptop at more than 60fps. And if you're trying to find another laptop with this class of performance you will not find anything under 1kg like this one.
Windows 11 sucks, tho. I put Arch Linux on my laptop and everything has been amazing

Replace the WiFi card, don't expect much from tech support, and you'll love this laptop!
I'm giving it three stars due to the abysmal technical support provided from HP. This device suffers from continuous WiFi drops. My model has the Realtek 2x2 WiFi 6 card. This issue is widely documented from HP forums and various reddit threads. The resolution is to purchase and install an Intel AX200 WiFi card. HP basic support tries to transfer you to this "advanced technical team" and tells you that you will have to pay to speak to them and for them to perform troubleshooting.
I escalated my case because that is absurd to tell a customer with a new device that he is going to have to pay for support, for a widely known and documented issue that HP tries to pretend doesn't exist. So, for the $30 WiFi card I purchased, I was offered a $14 HP wireless mouse - seems fair huh? That's HP support.
Besides that and now that I've replaced the WiFi card and have zero issues with connection dropping, this little guy is so super light and such a pleasure to use. The camera isn't great, but this is not top tier. The trackpad is decent given that it is not glass. Note - the motherboard only is capable of a Gen3 NVMe SSD (which is what the laptop comes with) in case you are thinking of upgrading/expanding - so do not expect Gen4 speeds. It's still rather zippy and a pleasure to use. If you can get it on sale, it's an even better buy.
I strongly dislike HP's tech support, but I thoroughly enjoy using my Pavilion Aero.
