Rated 1 out of 5 by Swamp Dog from going back to back to Canon Love my HP PC! I've has three in a row. And my My HP display is perfect! But my all-in-1 printer? One gigantic fail. I've never had a good day with it. What does it tell you when a company gives you a "print and scan doctor" that you need to run before you print? Or else it hangs in the queue, or "error - printing" (helpful, thanks) And it's ALWAYS right before I'm ready to run out the door. Canon, here I come.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Died after 3 yrs First year (while under warranty) great no issues. Next year printer failed to recognize its own ink so wasted ink. Got that fixed (July 2020) now a year later and another ink issue- cartridge issues - well after going through all the diagnostics several times and more wasted ink I was told I need a whole new printer. What a waste. Will not be going back to HP. Last printer was bad too but figured was just one but nope....

Rated 3 out of 5 by Srecko from Bad Software! I own this machine for two years and the trouble we had with it is just exhausting...there is nothing wrong with the printer itself, jammed only once and because of paper being too loose when pulled. The culprits are the drivers and software that accompanies it, don't know how many times did I have to reinstall it because he would not print in color. If you enable silent mode you cannot disable it unless you reinstall the software again although it says it has been disabled but will print normal only from my wife's laptop. Then my wife could not connect to the printer, we reinstalled and went through the setup so many times, whatever was causing issues it's still lurking there waiting to be activated, The printer was connected properly to wifi! Good printer, but man unbelievable amount of headache with buggy software, HP please revisit this software and update, this is not working as intended!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous in Colorado from Trash Besides feeling like I'm constantly throwing money at new ink cartridges, the printer itself had no other issues when I bought this a year ago. I changed the WiFi password recently and this printer seemed to crash. I got it up and running again but now it will only print documents from the desktop and not the internet. I tried reinstalling the driver and now it won't install correctly. The document feeder eats paper now, it never used to do that. I have to copy pages one by one from the flatbed copier. Very tedious and time consuming. This printer is junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DannyBoy007 from A total pain I bought this printer about a year ago and have regretted it ever since. If I want to print something out i have to reconnect it to the web every time. It takes forever to read that there is an item in the cue and the desktop apps for running it are less than helpful. It also regularly eats paper. Spend the extra 20 bucks for a better printer and different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by El Printo No Worko from Does Not Print. Do Not Buy. Since we bought this printer it has only printed 2 decent documents. No amount of troubleshooting or cleaning the print heads will fix it. We even bought new ink thinking that the ink that was shipped with the printer might be no good. That was more wasted money. The printer that we bought is a lemon, and we are severely disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointed in PA from Discontinued Bought this for my daughter 18 months ago. She called customer service with an error message as well as took the printer to Staples. Both said there is a problem with the sensor and we would have to buy a new one. Cant afford to buy a new printer every 18 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SpaceMonkey from Atrocious Software We have owned this printer for over a year. It consistently fails to communicate with computers whenever we try to print or scan. The hardware seems to work just fine, and the printer says it is connected to the wifi. After reinstalling drivers and running the print and scan doctor, it will SOMETIMES work. It should not take an hour of troubleshooting to print something on a regular basis.

Rated 1 out of 5 by pixshooter from JUNK Problems from day 1. Printing quality was often poor. It chugged ink. Doing taxes today and trying to print, but it is telling me ''This printer is not connected.'' It will not even copy a document! the scan still works, but that is all. HP deleted my account, which had the record of this printer and a few more. I just came to give a poor review. I can understand why they quit making the 4650. Hope my credit card warranty will reimburse me for this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by nate517 from This printer SUCKS At no time can I print with this printer without going through troubleshooting each and every time. Not only that, but it often doesnt even fix the problem! I hate this printer and want to toss it into the street like the trash it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Analu from Worst printer ever This printer is the worst. In many occasions it does not print the entire paper, it will only print have of the page and stop in the middle. In other occasions I send something to the printer and the printer does not recognize it. For some reason that one document gets "stuck". Then I have to re-boot the printer. Then other times it does not find my WiFi access point, and when it finds, it asks for the password again... And I have to retype every time it loses connectivity with my WiFi. Finally, the ink sucks and does not dry properly. After printing and waiting several hours, if I pass my fingers in the paper with some strength level (like to turn a page), the ink smudges in my fingers. Worst printer ever!

Rated 1 out of 5 by PrinterFatigue from DOES NOT AWAKEN FROM SLEEP MODE Do not buy this printer unless you would like to unplug it and plug it back in every time you want to use it. The convenience of any of the print features are a TOTAL WASTE if someone has to reset the printer every time you need to print.

Rated 3 out of 5 by printmaster30 from Seems promising despite some issues I have only had this printer a couple of weeks and have not printed much, however I have tested each of the features to make sure they all work. The printer itself is impressive for its price, considering how many features it packs - scan/print/fax, colour printing, document feeder and glass options for scanning/copying. I am also very impressed with the Instant Ink program which really helps to reduce costs, especially with the Free monthly subscription. I bought this printer because I am a teacher and read lots of reviews that said it gets the job done, especially for cost-effective colour printing when using the Instant Ink subscription that suits your needs. I did have some issues with the scanning and photocopying at first, as documents would come through crooked using the glass and the document feeder. After contacting support, I was sent a replacement printer and the second printer still scanned crooked when using the document feeder. I contacted support and he suggested that it was due to a lack of power coming from my power outlet (issue can also arise if using a power bar). I switched outlets and the issue resolved so I am happy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by tf1987 from Piece of Trash This machine is a piece of trash. 1) I have owned it for 6 months, and somehow it automatically deleted its ability to print color. I was told I need to uninstall and reinstall all drivers to the machine and my computer- while I was in the middle of a project where I needed color copies. 2) At least once a week it automatically reformats itself to not be able to accept documents in the top feeder, the top feeder runs and runs, says it has an error, then will only take copies off of the glass. I have to reinstall the factory defaults for it to work. 3) The ink is terrible. It will only let you use HP Ink cartridges- any off-brand company you purchase from works about 50% of the time. The message literally reads "not an authentic HP ink cartridge" and it will not accept it. I will never buy another HP product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DPSTTMPST from Bad driver and diagnostic software. The printer and its packaged software no longer works as it should. The driver and diagnostic software continue to show failure, unable to communicate with my printer and my computer. The printer is connected to the wireless connection but fails to respond to the driver installed on the computer (it is fully updated).

Rated 4 out of 5 by Railfanner from wireless printer I don't have the space for a second printer. I wanted a colour printer that would work on a particular paper size. This does just what I wanted. I am not into printing high quality photos, but I wanted a photo on a summary page. It does that. I am impressed. I swore off inkjet printers because they dry out so fast and you end up spending a lot of time cleaning the ink cartridge, again, no problem so far. I am definitely pleased with the printer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Chuck G from Works, but ANNOYING I've generally been very pleased with HP products, but I have a severe love/hate relationship with this printer. Love: It works as intended. Prints double-sided. Good print, scan, and copy quality. Wireless setup was easy. Hate: (1) About once a month it stops printing in color for some reason and the only way I've found to restore it is to reload the printer drivers and go through the setup process again. So that's about 10 minutes every month I have to spend getting my printer to work properly again! It shouldn't be that way. (2) QUIT BADGERING ME ABOUT INSTANT INK!! I do not want Instant Ink. I do not want HP monitoring my print usage and trying to send me ink cartridges when I don't want them. I just want a freakin printer that prints and doesn't have an agenda. Every month when I have to do the printer setup I have to tell it I don't want Instant Ink. Every time a cartridge gets low it wants me to check out Instant Ink. Just. Stop. It.

Rated 2 out of 5 by art205 from The 4650 is not an all in one printer I had an HP OfficeJet 4630all in one printer with an apple desk top computer. When I changed to HiSierra OS the printer would not scan. HP said I needed to buy a HP 4650 Printer which would scan with the HiSierra OS. I bought the 4650 printer which also does not scan with the hi sierra OS. So I would say that is false advertising. When HP gets this problem corrected let me know; and I will write a good review about the 4650 printer!

They work when they should work. This one is simpler and only has one color cartridge. It was very easy to set up on WIFI and works like a champ and prints in great color and is much faster than the older one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ladyraven from Do Not recommend this product. Wifi issues, Piece of Junk! Warranty Worthless. :( Door to printer loader would not close so the printer stopped printing. I had just bought brand new ink the week before from HP and it's expensive to have the printer die a week later. Amazon extended warranty was junk and they would not honor it. It disconnected from the Wifi often and had to reset it. It is a ink hog and the ink is very expensive and it will not let you use third party ink. I am at a loss what to buy at this point. Most printers that are less than 300 dollars have pretty bad reviews and have ink issues. I print 30-40 pages every 2 months, I scan perhaps 5-6 times per year. I just need a decent printer that lasts more than 15 months!

Rated 5 out of 5 by tomofSD from Great so far Used it just a few times, but excellent results. Set up with WiFi was easy and quick. Printing is quiet and smooth. Print/scan utility software setup was also easy, and is easy to use. You don't have to remember to extend the output tray - it pops out automatically. Saves space and prevents you from accidentally bumping it (if you're like me). Superb for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by REG56 from A good buy I had to replace my old HP printer when it decided that printing in black ink with a full cartridge was not possible! This one has scan, copy, print and fax options and I look forward to using all of them at some point. So far the only issue I have with it is the touch screen - not very responsive - which made setting up the printer a bit frustrating and time consuming. I'm hoping it will be easier from now on. Like the way the paper rest automatically extends whenever you print something...and my cats like the printer too - it's an excellent resting place to keep an eye on things *g*

Rated 4 out of 5 by Diane510 from We have not had it to long now....about one month. Does what I want it to do, the price was great. I still think the ink is too expensive. But that is where you make your money. The one thing that I'm not crazy about is the (thing????) that comes out to catch the paper. I can see that breaking in a short amount of time. The last HP printer lasted 12 years I hope this one lasts that long.
