Horrible keyboard
I ordered this for my boss last April. Couldn't figure out why he wasn't using it until I looked at it. I have had silver keyboards many times on a laptop and the keys are marked in black. These are in light grey and cannot be seen. It is atrocious, was told by customer service that nothing can be done.

Good components, only so-so computer
I bought this laptop in November 2021 and here are my observations.
This computer has Intel i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 512 MB SSD storage and a decent 1920 x 1080 display. Most of these features were optional and the computer was built to order in China. It came with Windows 11 Home Edition preinstalled and I just had to set it up and run the updates.
I never had any problems with the computer configuration or its performance. It was built to my specifications after all. But this computer keeps showing the "blue screen of death" every single time it is powered up after at least 15-20 minutes of being off. The most common error message for the last 2 days was 0xc0000428 - "Digital signature for this file could not be verified. Need to use recovery tools." In the past I was getting the other codes as well - 221, 001, 098, 225, 210000.
So far I was able to boot up by pressing ecs and enter buttons at the blue screen, sometimes multiple times. The problem existed from day one, was intermittent in nature and It was getting progressively worse. At some point in the near future I would not be able to boot up the computer at all. Operating system was reinstalled at least 5 times with no effect at all. Even installing Windows 10 at HP place in CA showed no difference. Now I upgraded it back to Windows 11 I had from day one. The Customer Receipt, which came back with the repaired PC, says that HP technician "performed extensive testing". It is hard to believe that blue screen was not seen during such testing. To me it looked like a typical hardware issue, which showes up at the cold start and goes away once computer is warmed up.
This computer was custom built in China - bigger hard drive, bigger memory, better display. It is possible the standard BIOS cannot work with this configuration. BIOS was updated at least a couple of times, but it produced no effect.
I first reported this problem to HP on November 21 of this year, spent countless hours on a phone with HP service people trying to fix the computer, but the problem was not solved. The computer was in HP repair shop in CA around December 7-9, 2022 and another time on December 20-22, but both times it was shipped back to me without addressing the main issue.
Technical support people are not located in the USA. They speak good English, but still are difficult to understand. The worst part is their qualifications are not the best to say it politely. US still has a hardware repair facility in CA, but I would not entrust them to change the batteries in my flashlight, leave alone repair the computer. Completely unqualified people. I just finished the battle with HP over replacing the laptop they cannot fix. I won, but it took me 2 months of my life.
I would not recommend this machine or any other HP computer. HP used to be a good name, it is no longer the case.

Very bad, do not buy!
Very bad laptop. I bought it about 5 months ago. After doing a recent update the laptop did not turn on at all. I took it to a repair shop and was told it was due to an issue with the hardware and that I had to buy a new one. I called the HP customer service and the person that answered did not help at all and told me to just buy a new laptop!

Too many ports on one side
I really like my new Laptop.
The only thing I would change is that the charger port and 2 USB ports are all on one side and nothing on the other side. I use a plug-in keyboard and mouse when sitting at my desk, with all the cords it can get messy.

I bought this computer for one main purpose and it can’t complete the function. I want to simply transfer pictures from my phone to an external hard drive. I specifically bought this computer for the super-speed USB ports for that purpose. Every single time I initiate a transfer, it closes part way through. Not once have I been able to complete a transfer even with a small amount of photos. Ugh.

Good price/value laptop
The 15t-dw300 is priced very competitively.
There are a number of options: touch-screen, backlit keyboard, faster processor (i5 to i7), more RAM, Storage, etc.
Even some custom some color options.
I would have liked 1920 resolution with touch-screen like my previous HP Pavilion had, but 1366 is ok.
Mine came with a working fingerprint reader under Windows 11, so that was a nice surprise.
I got the 3-year Risk Free HP CarePack too.
No problems so far, after a month of use.
Note: The Prod ID printed at the bottom of the laptop is different from what the HP Support Assistant app reports.

Great with one issue
It’s a great product in every way except a week after purchase, it stopped receiving Wi-Fi signals. I called HP Technical Support who must update several things (e.g., BIOS, Network Adapter) to enable Wi-Fi again. These corrections should not have been necessary for a brand new machine. Otherwise, everything works great.

I've had this for a few months now and it's ok. I don't particularly like how loud the fan gets and a lot of times it does this when I'm just working. If I had to do over I probably would've bought a gaming laptop instead. The battery doesn't last long either. So basically you get what you pay for. Lesson learned!

When ordering your laptop I would suggest that you not order Microsoft office at the same time. Order it separate and install yourself. I've had my laptop now for 3 weeks and they haven't fixed the issue that when I booted up it never loaded the software. Supposedly it was loaded and when I logged into a Microsoft product it should have asked me to activate and this never happened.

I like it alright.
I Like this computer so far. It starts up lightening fast, it does what its supposed to do in regards to connecting to the net and printers. I wish I would have paid attention and paid for touch screen, but that was my fault and not HP. I have the number pad on mine and I like that feature. I use rhis computer fir work and school so I need a reliable computer that is able to run smoothly and has enough memory. The finger sensor does NOT work, so I am glad this does not matter to me. I am replacing an older 2018 HP that was A) smaller B) had backlit keyboard C) did not have keypad D)had touch screen. I miss my old computer, but it was slow and would not ypdate to Windows 11, so it was time for an upgrade. I am a Master's student as well as a mobile therapist so I rely heavily on this laptop, and so far so good.

All the features I was looking for
I am very happy with this laptop. I wanted a new laptop, to put Linux on, to replace my 10 year old Dell. I wanted a few specific things that this laptop has met. 1. Physical touch pad click buttons (clicking both buttons ie: "middle click" really makes AutoCAD work tolerable on a touchpad). 2. Dedicated home and end keys (for programming). 3. A num pad. 4. An RJ45 (ethernet) port. 5. An i7 processor (this unit can be upgraded to this under customize). 6. A headphone jack.
I realize it is a unique list due to wanting a laptop for programming and CAD, but that is what I like about this laptop, it covers a lot of bases.
Only downside is that the cooling vents are on the bottom rather than to the side, so it may want to get a bit warmer on your lap than a side vented model. Also, it doesn't have "removal" battery, so you can't charge a bunch of batteries up and disappear for a week to a place without electricity, but finding a removal battery these days is basically impossible.

Can I install (dual boot) with linux operating system, (Ubuntu, Mint).
I just bought this laptop and have installed Linux Mint on it today. The basic steps are: 1. In Win11 Win+X, drive manager, shrink partition. 2. Ctrl Panel, turn off drive encryption (BitLocker) 3. Restart and press F9 for boot order to boot off USB. 4. Install OS (touch pad will not work, tab is your friend) 5. Restart and press F10 to get into BIOS, go to boot order screen, arrow down to OS Boot Manager, press enter, use F5/F6 to move "ubuntu" to top of list. F10 to save this setting. Don't forget to save and exit. 5. Reboot into Ubuntu/Mint. 6. Ctrl+Alt+T (for terminal) sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-20.04 (get touch pad drivers) 7. Reboot and enjoy. I am not an HP employee, and all steps are at your own risk.
