Did not last long!
I bought this in Nov. 2022, and today, not even a full year as yet, the laptop has crash and is not turning on. The power button light is on and the caps lock light is continually blinking. The laptop cannot turn on and I have troubleshooted all options. This is NOT good HP!

First impression
Had an older model of an envy as my first college computer. It still works beautifully but I needed to upgrade so I purchased this model. I’ve only had the laptop for a few weeks so it’s hard to really judge the pros and cons yet. So far the size is my only complaint. 15.6 inches is quite a large screen for me, but there wasn’t another model offered in a 14 or 15 inch that had all the other features I was looking for. Overall though this laptop is great for writing on like a tablet (minus the size), is quite durable, and so far I’m enjoying it.

a poor start
got the laptop through Perks At Work, cheaper than if I got it through HP directly. Was excited at first, but that fizzled out soon because after getting it up and running, I stepped away a moment and returned to find the screen black. No response to any keys I touched, and rebooting did not help. The customer service line said it was unable to enter my info into the system, for whatever reason but that they'd help. They had me reboot the laptop at least 5 times, and I kept having to hit three keys at once to make it reboot a different way. Nothing worked. Finally after a half hour, the rep said that the screen does not work. I had two options: send it back to be refurbished; or send it back for a brand new laptop. He recommended the latter. I gave up on it and let it sit until my other half came home, and told him my tale of woe. He tried a different fix, based on something he googled: that the problem was most likely a faulty graphic display. He fixed the laptop right then and there. No thanks to HP reps though. The laptop is fine, now. Hoping nothing else goes wrong with it. Glad I didn't have to return it. I had already transferred over all my old laptop's files and photos to this new laptop. Without a functioning screen, I would have to send the laptop back to HP - - with all my personal data on it. Wow. I was hoping this HP Envy was going to be the best thing for me, this year. But on top of a multitude of unrelated life problems I'm having, this only makes me really unhappy and wondering if I should ever buy HP again. I don't know that I'll get another HP in the future. I couldn't bear another disappointment. At least by not buying HP, it's one thing I have within my control to avoid disappointment for, in the future. Avoidance is my tool as of late.

Keyboard keeps cutting out :(
I love the computer, but for some reason the keyboard stops working after the computer is asleep for a bit. I have to constantly restart it to get the keyboard and mouse pad to work again...kinda annoying for a brand new, expensive computer.

Better than I expected!
I read a lot of reviews on laptops before purchasing this HP. I read about th existing Hp Envy’s having an issue with the keyboard so I was a bit weary. But I have not had a single issue with the keyboard yet. I love the touchscreen and bought a Wacom Bamboo ink pen which works great. I also love that this generation has a USB C charger instead of a barrel jack. And the HP laptops just have the ports I want. Headphone jack, USB A, USB C, hdmi.

Don't waste your money
I'm a college student so when my other laptop broke, I was in a crunch to get a new one. Went to Best Buy and was talked into buying this one. Let me just say, I absolutely wasted my money. I've only had it two months, and already so many issues. The keyboard randomly disconnects and the only way to fix it is to restart the computer. It will randomly tell me there is no WiFi to connect to when we have never had issues with our Wifi. The Bluetooth disconnects after a few seconds and the screen will randomly freeze up with nothing open and nothing happening in the background. So don't buy this computer unless you don't need internet, Bluetooth, a way to type/click, or any kind of fast response.
I had to restart my laptop 5 times today before everything finally worked together.

astonishing technology...a delight to use...
I bought this a month ago as a replacement for a previous HP laptop...and so far its been an absolute delight. So versatile and powerful. I'm not a gamer but use it for my online business and for fun...so many features to use...it will I'm certain continue to be just what I need

The only issue is when I leave the computer on for long periods of time in sleep/lid closed the mouse icon doesn’t show up when the computer turns on. A restart fixes the issues. Otherwise it works beautifully, I use the HP MPP 1.51 pen with it. I take notes, write to text functions, and use it in tablet form for school.

Nice big screen and clean black design. Haven't tried the tablet feature yet and rarely use the touch screen *although that's a cool feature*. I'm just a little upset about how low the volume is (even when it's on 100) and how dim the screen lighting is.

getting worse
Got this for Christmas. continues to get worse! MS Word crashes, now MS Power Point crashed, desktop properties won't even show. The add printer dialogue freezes. One program, e-sword, says its running in the background but will not open. personalize desktop freezes.
Drive or folder properties won't show anything - the screen doesn't even come up - like I didn't hit properties at all. this is not usable for me. I am back to using my old slow Dell. guess I should have stuck with Dell. DONT BUY THIS. I want to return it, but it was purchased in November as a Christmas present.

Wonderful laptop
It is a great laptop. I have not have a laptop in 5 years. It is lightweight that you can carry this anywhere with you. However, it don’t do Dolby Atmos when it comes to music, only in gaming. I would have give this a 10 if it has capabilities for Dolby Atmos music.

For the most part it's ok. I expected it to be faster, can be a little laggy. It might just be my laptop personally, but sometimes when I open the laptop from sleep mode the physical keyboard and touchpad aren't responsive. Restarting the device fixes it but it's still a pain to do it frequently.

Do NOT buy this computer
DO NOT purchase this computer. I bought this exact computer from Best Buy and have used it less than 2 months- the hard-drive went out already!!. I was told that I would need to pay out of pocket to have it fixed as HP warranty only covers physical damage. IF i would have purchased the extended warranty from Best Buy for an additional $200 per year, it would be covered ! I guess I thought when you pay close to $950 for a computer that it would last longer than 2 months, guess I was wrong.

Feels good to use, and does everything it says on the website. However, it has a minor issue where a quiet electrical interference sound can be heard when the laptop is charging, so look into other models if that might bother you.

It works, for the most part
I bought this a year ago, and it has a decent battery life and processing power, as well as a good looking design, and the touch screen is very responsive.
However, it has some critical design flaws. Starting with the most minor of them, the rubber spacers used to support the screen when closed leave residue on the screen itself that needs to be wiped away EVERY TIME YOU CLOSE THE LAPTOP. I accidentally put on a screen protector while there was a mark, and now there is a semi permanent mark on my screen from it. Second, frequently, when I wake the computer from sleep mode, THE TOUCHPAD AND KEYBOARD ARE DISABLED, forcing me to use the touch screen until I restart the computer, which sometimes fixes the issue. Lastly, the laptop OVERHEATS ALL THE TIME. After a month, the back strip of rubber on the back MELTED OFF and won't go back on.
In conclusion it functions, but they did very little testing of the device, and there are much better options out there.

Great Laptop! Negative is: Touch pad is cumbersome to click and drag an icon - have to press too hard to click and drag. I should study up on it - as there may be a better way to click and drag. Everything else is awesome!!!!!

Great laptop
So far so good everything is very responsive and very quick . You can do pretty much anything on this laptop whether it be drawing or editing videos and even gaming. The laptop is very nice and sleek and the screen can be extremely bright even for outdoor use which is a plus for me. It isn’t a fingerprint magnet either which many matte black laptops seem to be. Overall very much worth the price tag.

slight fyi: i own the ryzen 5 4500 envy360, for the better part of 2 years now, which is still priced only $50 less than the sale price i shopped around for... it does everything well, in a quality/ sturdy build, mine included the pen in the package... have been won over by my 1st amd powered machine, good fps, fair audio for a laptop, quality battery, & running decibel levels... a bit robust for tablet use, but nice to have the option
